  • Winter getaway

    5/5

Me and my work buddies planned a get away to go skiing, and the location of the cabin was perfect for breck. We also went to mt Princeton, and the drive was not too far, about an hour. The amenities were nice, there were plenty of dishes for us to use along with a pizza cutter and pots and pans. There were enough towels for each of us to use for showers. Unfortunately it was too cold to use the hot tub, but it was nice to have the door leading right out to it. The dining area was perfect for eating meals and also playing board games.

The one bad thing about the cabin was the lock on the door. It took several tries to open it and we had to pull hard to get it to lock. Other than that, the whole experience was amazing!

  • A very nice stay

    4/5

Overall, I liked this property, it seemed to fit our needs well. It is a bit dated inside but the I believe the descriptions and photos in the listing were accurate so, no surprises here. We did not get a chance to use the hot tub but when I checked it, it looked like a pretty standard tub that was clean and well kept. My only complaint, maybe related to the age of the home, is that the upstairs sliding door could use a screen door that way no bugs get in while you are trying to let the accumulated heat out of the room with a cross breeze from the opposing bedroom. At night, the temps cool off and all I wanted to do was open the door, but, bugs...Other than that, we were very comfortable in the home and I think we will keep this place in mind the next time we venture to Central CO.

  • Nice humble property

    4/5

This was a nice house for two families with kids to stay in the summer. The hot tub was great and there were plenty of towels. It was nice that there was shampoo in the shower as well (just remember, there is only one shower). It’s very close to a forested area and a lake where the kids loved to play and explore.

We had a couple issues, though.

One of the bunk beds was missing a slat under the mattress so it sagged, not a huge deal for a small child, but an adult could not have slept there.

One burner didn’t work on the stove and the kitchen wasn’t well equipped except with grill tools. If you want to cook, I recommend bringing all your own bowls, measuring cups, Tupperware, spatulas, tongs, etc. There were lots of pots, and one sheet pan. There were no instructions on how to work the coffee maker. There was only one roll of paper towels and no dish towels. We stayed for two nights with 10 people and that was not enough.

The sink is old and doesn’t have a disposal, it drained really slow.

None of the doors upstairs closed all the way and stayed closed. But the mattress in the large room (king) was very comfortable. The deck outside this room was lovely as well and there were two chairs up there.

The sewer access is right in the front yard, where you park, so every time that is what we smelled.

The living area (kitchen, dining, living) actually held a lot of people comfortably. Definitely a plus for a multi family vacation!

For the lower price, we were really only 20 minutes outside Breck, so the location was great and totally worth it!

Overall, a modest house, a little outdated, not a fancy getaway, but a mountain getaway nonetheless. Half of our party would go back and half would look for something a little nicer.

  • Just a little quaint "Tribe mountain adventure"!

    5/5

So, our family lives spread out and we do not get the chance to just hangout and explore around often but this little cabin provided just the exact rental home space needed to bring us all together to provide enough beds to sleep plus a comfortable family sized dinning table to fit us all for home cooked meals in the fully stocked kitchen. Thanks for such a great place to adventure including a stream, a mountain side backyard to hike plus a cozy hot tub to then finish the night relaxing in!
