  The owner was great to work with and checked in on us during our stay at one time. The property has a great view from the top of the hill and the drive into town does not take too long either. I did get to observe two wild Tom turkey's fighting a little bit one morning near the bottom of the hill, as well as viewing a few white tail deer. Very quiet and peaceful.

  I don't want to sound too critical, but we're charged for the cleaning, but it was not very clean. You could see all sorts of cobwebs and dust along the base boards and behind the doors. Whoever is charging them to clean is not doing a very good job in my opinion.

  Other guest may have been trying to be nice by leaving their leftover food, but not too appealing; especially when there's a half carton of unused milk and juice in the refrigerator, unused mayonnaise, and other opened condiments. There was also someone's leftover food in the freezer in two Styrofoam cups. Again, they may have thought they were being nice but I think it's gross to see other people's leftovers in the refrigerator that I was going to use. Please throw away others leftover food and unused butter, syrup, mustard, etc.

  I wish I could recommend this place in good conscience because the owner that we dealt with was very nice, but for the price that we paid for three nights (695.00), I was a little disappointed.

  It was a beautiful cabin. The front porch was perfect for sitting out watching the wildlife and enjoying the peace and quiet. The cabin was well stocked with snacks and water. The host was extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back.

• Amazing cabin with even better views!

  Wonderful rustic cabin with a breathtaking view. Sat atop a hill on 850 acres you feel as though you can see the ends of the earth! Host is wonderful. Loved having my morning coffee and evening wine with the wildlife right in front of the cabin. Will definitely visit again!

• Best Cabin Rental in Fredericksburg

  You need to stay at this cabin!!! You will not regret it!! Hands down the best vacation rental we have stayed at! This cabin is the perfect distance from Fredericksburg and still allows you the peace and quiet of hill country. Tracy Merz is an excellent host and made us feel welcome and like family! We were personally escorted to the cabin when we first arrived and felt at home right away! The cabin has everything you could ever need and is well taken care of. The rustic decor is very unique and adds the the cabins charm. The cabin is also very spacious and has a comfortable bed and living room seating. The best part of staying at this cabin is the amazing views and sunsets from the deck! There are also lots of opportunities for viewing wildlife!
