• Like to Sweat? This place is your hellish dreamscape!

  My boyfriend booked this place specifically because the hot tub was advertised - guess what didn’t work and was unable to be used? The hot tub. We figured we would still make the best of our Labor Day weekend - until we realized all the lights and ceiling fans are motion activated with NO way to override it so unless you’re a restless sleeper you’re going to be sweating - there’s no AC either! 😅

  Sweating through the night not a deal breaker? Maybe you enjoy hearing footsteps through the night? Sounding like someone is breaking in? Wandering upstairs and downstairs knowing you’re the only two living people in the house? Yes. All three nights we heard footsteps and moving around in the house - Saturday night was the most “active” night, putting my boyfriend and our dog on edge. I think we slept maybe 3 hours all night long?

  Wanna turn the tv up to drown out the ghostly banging? Well you can’t do that in any of the bedrooms! The only bedroom with a tv (the one I opted to sleep in because of the tv) doesn’t have a cable box - so no tv for you to drown out the footsteps and banging. The best part of it all? No wifi!

  So even though there’s a Smart TV in the “game room” you can’t do anything with it - no Netflix, no Hulu… heck hardly any cell service at all. Adding to the anxiety of “which is worse: human intruder or paranormal ghost” debate. There were a few times my phone said “SOS only” when searching for service.

  Also, pictures are very deceiving, no carpeting at all in any rooms - adding to the haunting footsteps I’m sure. Plus, as if hearing sounds you’re not entirely sure where they came from isn’t enough - the water smells. Like blood. Ladies, and men who care about your hair, bring LOTS of conditioner! Whatever you think you need, bring double!

  The water was absolutely horrible. I grew up with well water at another mountain house not far from here and it was no where near as smelly and drying. Seriously, if you don’t heed all these warnings and just find another house, at least bring lots of conditioner, moisturizer and good smelling lotion!

  Also, mirroring previous reviews (which my boyfriend obviously didn’t read) it wasn’t clean. Cobwebs everywhere. Children’s handprints on the mirrors. Gross crusty mess on the bedroom TV. Just go elsewhere. Oh, and not one outlet actually holds a plug - so I’m sure that’s a fire hazard.

  0/5 stars if I could. All of the enjoyable parts of my weekend were spent far away from this literal hell hole.

  Great location for a weekend trip with friends. House is pretty outdated and needs some TLC. Deck boards are in pretty bad shape. Overall worked great for us.

  The house needs a lot of update and is very neglected. It’s dirty, the floors haven’t been mopped. Spider webs all over. The water is not filtered runs yellow and sinks and showers are broken and clogged. Pool table is placed in a way were it’s not playable. Only good thing about this house is the BBQ area nice view and spacious.
