  • A Quiet Winter Family Vacation

    5/5

    Overall

We loved staying here! This is a beautiful modern take on a farmhouse cottage. The atmosphere is peaceful and serene. Very few cars drive on the road leading to the house, accentuating the quietude. The quality of the stay is extremely high, especially compared to the very reasonable prices. Stay here if you want to relax in nature, want solitude, or love the idea of living a simpler life.

    Local Thoughts

We live in a rather flat state, so the twists and ups and downs of the roads were a shock. Be prepared for narrow roads, few guardrails, and occasional fog due to the Muskingum River. Some of the turns onto the local highway leading to the house are easy to miss, so pay close attention when driving there. The driveway is also a bit steep.

Zanesville is a fifteen-minute drive away, with the local mall only thirty minutes out. Columbus is about an hour away via the highway, but beware of traffic the closer you get. Dillon Dam is close by, as are many other national parks.

    Idiosyncrasies

These are not marks against the house, which is delightful, but are useful to know before you arrive:

    • Use single ply toilet paper due to the septic tank.

    • The upstairs bathtub is clean despite the hard water stains.

    • The kitchen has limited cookware and dinnerware, and no dishwasher or mixer.

    • The smart TV can be connected to streaming devices, but has no DVD player.

    • The WiFi is great, but the cell service is poor.

    • Some roads are difficult to navigate for large vehicles.

  • Hunters Retreat

    5/5

Myself and a few friends rented this property to be able to hunt the public land near by. It was very spacious and relaxing. It had everything we needed for our stay. Only thing I assumed ,so my mistake, from the pictures was we would have use of the garage for our gear but we made it work without still. I thought the picture with cornhole boards was the garage. We all still like the rental and will highly recommend it to others.

  • A Memorable Second Stay: A Home Away from Home

    5/5

Our recent experience at this beautiful vacation home was truly exceptional, leaving us with a strong desire to return in the future. Having stayed here before, we were once again greeted with a warm and hospitable welcome that set the tone for a delightful getaway.

The house itself is an absolute gem, radiating charm, elegance, and a serene tranquility that immediately puts you at ease. The level of attention to detail in the interior design and furnishings is remarkable, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere throughout. The spacious layout of the house provided more than enough room for our family, ensuring that everyone had their own comfortable space to retreat to.

A particular highlight of our stay was the incredibly well-equipped kitchen. As a family that enjoys cooking, we were thrilled to find a wide array of high-quality appliances and utensils at our disposal. The thoughtfully designed space made meal preparation an absolute pleasure, and the abundance of cookware and kitchen gadgets made it easy for us to whip up delicious meals throughout our stay.

It is evident that the owners of this vacation home truly understand the importance of creating a home away from home experience. They have gone above and beyond to ensure that every guest has everything they need for a memorable stay. From the cozy beds to the luxurious linens, no detail has been overlooked. The house was impeccably clean upon our arrival, a testament to the owners' commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.

We also appreciated the ideal location of the house, which allowed us to explore the surrounding area with ease. Nestled in a peaceful neighborhood, we enjoyed restful nights while being just a short distance away from local attractions. Whether it was visiting nearby parks, exploring hiking trails, or immersing ourselves in quaint towns, there was always something exciting to do within a reasonable distance.

Throughout our stay, the communication with the owners was seamless, and they were always readily available to address any questions or concerns we had. Their dedication to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction was evident, and we genuinely appreciated their attentiveness.

In conclusion, our second stay at this vacation home surpassed all expectations and left us with an extraordinary experience. The combination of a welcoming ambiance, exceptional amenities, and a convenient location make this place an ideal choice for a memorable getaway.

Very nice and well equipped. Loved the outdoor firepit but please replace the red wooden chairs, their falling apart.
