• Awesome Property

  This was our second stay at this property. We stayed in 2022 and once again in March 2024. We love the home and general global neighborhood. Sugar Mountain, Banner Elk, and Beech Mountain are clustered together with this property being on Sugar Mountain, just minutes from the ski slopes. The property is impeccably maintained and has every amenity on hand. Silverware, towels, plates, Keurig coffee maker, washing machine, literally everything one expects to have in their home. The views are spectacular, and the surrounding homes & properties are private and very upscale. Safety and security is excellent. Finally, the property upon which the house sits, is delightful and fun to walk thru. Beyond the seating on an expansive deck, there is seating in the back yard complete with a fire pit. Even the firewood is on hand next to the fireplace in the huge living room. I will close by simply saying this, whatever your expectation or hope may be, the reality of your stay, will greatly exceed your best wish, it certainly did for us ~ twice!

• Excellent Location and House

  Perfect house for 2 families to meet for a ski weekend. Shuttle pickup for Sugar Mountain is right at the end of the driveway. Wood fireplace made for a great relaxing atmosphere after a full day on the slopes. Quiet in the house even with the proximity to the road (couldn’t hear road noise). Owners were very welcoming and responsive to our questions. Would absolutely stay here again!

  What an exceptional place! We loved every moment. The host was super responsive via text and was very accommodating. There is plenty of space and beds to spread out and enjoy your stay. The very best part of this home is the wall of windows overlooking the mountain. The natural light and views make this place so special and comfortable. Lastly, the proximity of the mountain allow for a quick and easy ride to get some outdoor activities in no matter the season.

  We come to this area of North Carolina often but until now had never stayed on sugar mountain. The location for starters was central to all of the places we like to visit while in the high country.The home had everything we needed including great views. There were no steps to navigate when entering the home. The deck and yard were fantastic.

• cleanliness is too bad

  The location and check in process is good. But when I entered the bathroom in the master bedroom, I found out a lot of used towels from last guests. They didn’t clean the bathroom for us which makes the bathroom very very messy and smelly. There are two bathrooms, both of the floor is not well cleaned, which makes us feel very uncomfortable. I thought that is the only place that makes us feel bad until I found out the blood spot on the quilt. Spending time with friends in the living room is very warm and sweet. We used the fireplace and that is my favorite part of this cabin. Also, they will charge extra pet fee after you paid on Vrbo. I can understand the pet fee, but the other cabin that I have booked before will remind me before paying. I prefer the host listing every cost before I paid, instead of charging me after I already booked for my trip. And you have to create an account on their own website to pay for the pet fee, which is a little bit complicated.

  - All taxes and fees are clearly outlined by Vrbo at check-out before guests confirm payment. Guests must opt-in to pay the pet fee as not every guest staying at a pet-friendly property brings a pet. If this was overlooked during the booking process, as indicated in our transaction records, we follow a process to manually add the pet fee through Vrbo. We're sorry if this caught you off guard.
