  I spent the first 2 1/2 hours of my vacation washing linens that weren’t washed and loading a dishwasher full of dirty dishes and sending pictures to document the state of the Rental to our guest host, Nivi.

  When we arrived, we found dirty bed linens on the futon, dead bugs everywhere, termite shavings around every door frame, Dead ants, all along the perimeter, And food stuck on dishes that had been put away in the cabinets as if they were clean.

  Aside from the dirty state of the cabin, the bed pillows were completely worn out and flat, the backs of the leather couches are completely worn off, the mattresses sag in the middle, and the hot tub water was cloudy. The ceiling fan blades were caked in dust and dirt.

  At minimum, I should be refunded my cleaning fee For all the cleaning I had to do when I got there. The guest host was apologetic, And sent a cleaning lady to come to the cabin to try to clean again, but guests should Never have to arrive to their vacation rental and find it as disgusting as this place was.

  There is only one HVAC unit for the entire cabin. This leaves the upstairs extremely hot and the basement level extremely cold. Furnishings are worn out. Several of the windows were unlocked, leaving us feeling less than secure. It was not a comfortable stay.

  Hi Jill, we truly appreciate you sharing your thoughts about your recent stay. Your feedback is essential to us, and we've relayed your comments to the homeowner, who would like to address the following:
  -We are sincerely sorry to hear that the guests did not enjoy their stay. We strive to ensure an excellent experience for all our guests. Following every guest checkout, our cleaner sends us photos for review and approval before the next check-in. When the guest contacted us, we promptly attempted to resolve the issue by sending a cleaner to the house. Although the official check-in time is 3:00 PM, we accommodated the guest's request for a two-hour early check-in at 1:00 PM as a courtesy. However, the guests arrived at 11:30 AM and notified us of cleaning issues upon arrival. We immediately engaged with them to address the concerns, arranged for a fresh clean, and resolved all issues before the official check-in time.
  -We take guest feedback very seriously, and previous guests have provided consistently positive feedback about their experiences at our cabin. As a log cabin in the mountains surrounded by trees, occasional insect encounters can occur, despite specific cleaning instructions given to our cleaners. In response to the guest's complaint, we have appointed a new cleaner.
  -We acknowledge our utmost endeavors to conduct thorough cleaning procedures twice and accommodate the early check-in request. However, we regret that we were unable to entirely meet the expectations of our guest. We genuinely appreciate the feedback and will utilize it to enhance our services in the future. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.
  We strive to ensure that every guest enjoys the best possible stay, and we eagerly anticipate hosting many more satisfied guests at this property, as evidenced by our other reviews.

• Christmas in the Mountains

  We had a great stay at „Sound of Silence“ as it is known. The cabin was warm and comfortable for my family and my guests who came all the way from Germany to stay with us. We had some rainy days with the fireplace going the whole time along with lots of collaboration in the big kitchen. The hot tub was used every day as well! When the weather finally cleared, there were amazing views in several directions from the balconies:)

  Nice venue and convenient to all local activities. Cabin was nice, however it is only made for two adult couples and a couple of children. Will probably book again in the future but for only two couples. My impression was that there were three bedrooms that would accommodate 6 adults.

• Great cabin

  This cabin is beautiful and in a great location. The cabin is less than 10 minutes away from anything you need. Including Walmart, home depot, multiple restaurants, and downtown blue ridge ( which surprisingly in DTBR other then a couple restaurants everything closes at 5pm). The cabin is in a very quiet neighborhood. The cabin had a great floor plan. The view from the top floor master is beautiful. The deck with the hot tub and fireplace was a nice addition that stood out from the rest of the cabins viewed for our stay. The hot tub was also well kept. We enjoyed the inside fire place every night and were very pleased that they had a large supply of fire wood ready to use. If you have kids the basement floor is set up nicely for them. The pictures are misleading when it comes to the yard which is very steep. so if you have young ones don't expect to be outside. But you are in the mountains so it's expected. This would be a 5 star review if the house keeping is improved. But nothing that will keep us from returning.
