• Wonderful Place to Stay!

  We loved our stay. The house is huge and yet very cozy! There was plenty of room for our family of 8. We saw wildlife almost every day. The views from the house are incredible. One night it snowed 5” to 7” and we woke up to a winter wonderland! We hiked on and off trail directly from the property. The listing shows stairs and indicates that there are stairs, but I don’t think you can be prepared for how many there are. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because the kitchen lacks cookware for a large family (limited and small pots/pans). Plenty of other dishes though! We cooked at least one meal each day and it was challenging. However, I would recommend this rental. AWD or 4WD is definitely needed for the small switchback mountain road to get to the house. Luckily, we never had oncoming traffic.

• White Christmas Chalet

  What a fantastic place to stay for a white Christmas! Fortunately we got all the groceries we needed before we arrived and didn’t leave for a few days due to the weather. The place was very welcoming, warm and also provided plenty of places to duck away for quiet time. It’s even more beautiful in person!

• Relaxing and Remote

  We enjoyed our stay! The house was warm, clean, well decorated and the views stunning.

  However, heed the warnings that this house is very remote and the drive is absolutely not for anything but AWD or 4 WD. We were grateful not to deal with snow during our stay.

  Plenty of room for our married young adult children to have privacy, but yet large enough kitchen, dining and gathering spaces for us to visit and play board games. Would highly recommend it for a family in a similar phase as ours.

  Definitely think the homes layout would be challenging with all the stairs and multiple levels for elderly or young children.

  The only criticism, since we like to cook, is that the kitchen could be better stocked. They need more plates and pots, as it accommodates just one meal a day with plates and we had to run the dishwasher multiple times a day. We did reach out to management regarding a pot, and they were happy to reimburse us, but we were able to buy an inexpensive one and leave it for other guests. For the price per night however, feel like this should not have been an issue.

  Would recommend renting this house and may try to book it again in the future!

• Disappointed. Don't Recommend.

  Thermostats revert to 60 at 4 every day, so it was impossible to stay warm. Family did not like the sleep # beds and complained about revolving inside temp settings. When I used a provided electric heater, blew breaker. Tried to locate the subbreaker but assumed they were in one of the locked doors. So we only had power in half our room during our stay.

  Stove is greasy dirty. 2 bathrooms had urine and hair on toilets and shower had long hair in it.Our sheet had 2" hole in it.

  It took over 2.5 hrs for house to get warm initially after full day of travelling. which required us to wear over coats inside. I would not recommend this VRBO to anyone. The house should have been warm and ready for our enjoyment. The owners/MGMT co are poor hosts.
