Cleanliness was very important to us. We chose this property as it was listed and was rated as very clean. Not sure if we came right after another occupant and management only had time to surface clean. Carpets had lots of stains and upstairs smelled. We had to vacuum, wipe down trash cans, washer. etc. Linens were stuffed in closets, we felt we needed to wash them before use. Location was great and cleanliness was our only concern. We came during a busy season.

    3/5

This cabin was 4 bedrooms & a little sleeping loft. The location on a quiet court was great. There were no screen doors on the two sliding glass doors out to the deck. The tracks of the sliding glass doors were filthy & full of bugs as were most of the window tracks and screens. The deck had to be hosed off & swept as there was a lot of dog hair there. The two bathrooms are quite small for the number of beds in the cabin. We have been coming to Donner Lake for over 50 years. I was a little surprised that for the price we paid to rent for two weeks that the cabin wasn't in better condition. The carpets were very spotted & the bedding was very minimal. Also the deck was very small especially for the table they had & the chairs needed cushions to make them comfortable.

  • Wonderful stay

    5/5

My family of 8 had a wonderful stay. There was plenty of space for everyone to sleep comfortably, the kitchen was well stocked and there was a bbq available. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood on the culdesac. We were able to throw the ball for the dog outside and my toddler had plenty of room to explore outside. We enjoyed several walks around the neighborhood, including a walk to the beach. I made a couple of recommendations to management upon check out. Thanks for a nice weekend, we are looking into booking again next year.

The cabin was a 4 bedroom 2 bath with a small sleeping loft. The bathrooms were a little small as was the area in the living room at least with the type of furniture they had. The sofa was way too deep to even sit on. The dining table was large but the array of chairs were very uncomfortable. The outside table was too big for the small deck & since there were no outdoor cushions those chairs were very uncomfortable.

The location of the cabin was great - on a very quiet court.

The overall appearance of the cabin upon entering was nice but upon further inspection there were alot of areas that needed to be cleaned - especially all the window tracks & screens which were filthy. There were no screen doors on the two sliders leading onto the deck and the deck was filthy when we arrived. We had to hose it down after sweeping it.

There seemed to be alot of dog hair in the cabin especially under the couch and on the deck. The rugs in the bedrooms needed a good cleaning as they had alot of spots on them. An outside light was missing so we bought a light to fix it.

There were alot of bugs in the sliding glass door tracks & window sills.

We have been renting at Donner Lake for many many years. We were dissappointed in the condition of this cabin especially given how expensive it was to rent.

  • Nice Place

    4/5

The place is as advertised - very nice and well cared for. We stayed there in July with 10 people and were pretty comfortable. The kitchen is the most stocked of any vacation rental we have stayed in. There are a bunch of games and a nice big table where all of us were able to fit for meals. Katie, the property manager, was very responsive and helpful. The house is on a quiet col-de-sac where our kids played on their scooters and bikes safely. We had a couple minor issues: at the beginning of the week the bear box where the garbage goes was very smelly and made sitting on the deck or in the front yard unpleasant. After the garbage got picked up that went away. We like to walk to the west end beach and it was a bit too far away to walk. Finally, the deck is pretty narrow and not really conducive to hanging out/lounging, which we like to do in the summer. There is a fire pit area down below that was nice, though. All in all the place was solid and would recommend it.
