The 6 of us arrived at the unit in Palm Valley Golf & Country Club on Nov 14th for a two week holiday. We found the unit on VRBO and were intrigued by the photos and descriptions of the 3 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom townhome on the golf course. We loved the complex and the view out of the back patio onto the golf course. The large sectional couch was very comfortable and provided lots of seating for all of us. Getting up in the morning, we enjoyed the peacefulness and our coffee and tea in the sunshine while watching golfers go by. The kitchen was well stocked (pantry), had lots of dishes, glassware, etc. and we cooked some great meals while we were there. The unit was very close to the pool and we were there each day to soak up the sun and relax. There was lots of space in the townhome, so we never felt crammed with 6 adults in the unit. The complex was close to many stores and amenities.The owner was kind enough to contact us directly by phone, responded to our questions and was concerned about some of the issues that arose. He informed us of a leak in the tub in the master bathroom. He had that fixed just before we arrived but we were unable to use it during our stay. It was not a problem as the couple in the master just used the shower. We did feel that our concerns were being heard and were being addressed. Here is a list of things we determined that need to be updated or looked after:When we arrived, the patio furniture was very dusty and dirty. We cleaned and washed the table and the chairs so we could use them for our stay. The barbeque cover was also very dirty and looked like it had not been used for a long time. Again, we cleaned inside the barbeque so we could use it. The fireplace did not work – the owner said it had not been working for over a year and a half. It would have been nice to be able to turn it on in the evening when the temperatures cooled down. Because it was advertised as part of the amenities, we felt it should have been working.When we washed our dirty laundry after the first week and attempted to dry our clothes, we discovered the dryer did not work – no heat. We also found dry towels left in the dryer. I contacted the owner immediately and he tried to get a repairman to come but that could not happen until we after we were leaving. We air dried our clothes by hanging them in the townhome. It was an inconvenience for our stay but hope that the dryer been repaired.to be continued...
