  • Pleasant, but underwhelming

    Overall, the unit was a comfortable and pleasant place to stay for a couple of nights, but some elements to the visit kept it from being ideal;

    - Nowhere in the description of the house does it call out that you need to climb 56 steps to get to the house. During the snow season, these steps iced over and made traversing the climb a little bit hazardous.

    - The heat was not turned on when we arrived, and it took over 2 hours to come up to a comfortable temperature.

    - The remote control for the living room TV was not paired to the set, making the TV practically unusable. The only way we could watch was by streaming from my laptop.

    - There were several dirty pans placed back into the oven, and a couple of areas of the house didn't look like they had been thoroughly cleaned. Additionally, there were no cleaning supplies available, and there were no trash bags for us to use.

    - The trash cans we were asked to use were buried in snow, in a difficult location to access them.

    - The only parking area was not thoroughly shoveled.

    Again, the house was a pleasant unit - cozy and relaxing and a nice weekend getaway. It was just unfortunate that some of these other elements put a bit of a damper on the visit.

  • Many unpleasant surprises

    The cabin is a good size. The location is great, only a few miles away from the places we wanted to visit. We were very surprised on the state of the place when we arrived. The outside was covered with cobwebs. When we went inside we found it also had cobwebs and dead insects everywhere on the ceiling, windows, closets.. The cabin's pictures are accurate of how the place looks if it's cleaned. Many things were broken, the towels were nasty with all sorts of stain on them. I would recommend taking your own towels. Housekeeping is not great, they do the bare minimum. They left a load in the washing machine and in the dryer. Not wanting the laundry to stay wet and start smelling, I put it to dry and my mom folded the load that was in the dryer. Not really what we want to be doing on our vacation.

    I did report some things we noticed on day one to our guest contact. I do appreciate how the owner quickly acted to resolve some of the issues to help make our stay more pleasant.

    I do not foresee us visiting this place again and I might be sticking to hotels and resorts after this experience.

  • Underwhelmed

    Didn’t know we couldn’t use lake,no ac I missed it won’t do that again ,living room way to small for 8 more like 6 broken coffee maker and having to go up all those stairs never again. Very disappointed

    - We provide plenty of suggestions in the listing description of nearby attractions, but ultimately it’s up to the guest how they want to spend their time in the area. Unfortunately, there are not any homes located on Lake Arrowhead that give you direct access to the lake. This restricted access policy was put in place by the Lake Arrowhead Association. However, there are other lakes close by that guests can enjoy.
    - Our listing reflects the layout of the home and includes mention of stairs, though we are sorry if this caught you off-guard. The homeowner prides themselves on being transparent and accommodating to all guests and would have been more than happy to walk you through the exact layout of the home had you inquired during the booking process.
    - Our management company ensures all amenities are working before every guest's arrival. The coffee maker is working and our recent guests enjoyed using it to prepare fresh coffee. We wish you had notified us that you needed assistance with the coffee maker, we would have immediately sent our team out to ensure you could enjoy the rest of your stay.
    - Thank you for sharing your review. Your feedback assists us in understanding our guests' perspectives and improving wherever possible. While we do regret our home was not up to your expectations, we are happy to report that no issues were reported by the guests who stayed the following weekend.

  • Couple of Issues

    Property is in good location and is generally well appointed. Could have been a bit cleaner. The main issues we had were the very steep 55 steps from street to the front door and the fact there was no screen on the living room slider so couldn’t have it open in 90+ degree heat and loads of mosquitos around (no A/C common in cabins)

The listing does state that there are steps to access the home and they are visible in photos, but we are sorry if this caught you off guard. We encourage guests to thoroughly review the listing before booking, to ensure they find the perfect vacation home for their needs. We've never had cleanliness issues before and the cleaners take pride in making sure that the cabin is cleaned upon your arrival. If you had concerns about the cleanliness, bringing it to our attention would have helped resolve the issue. The screen door was just damaged by a previous guest and is being replaced. It’s a mountain house and can sometimes heat up in the summer and mosquitoes are common in the mountains.
    We do all we can to make our homes the best possible stays, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. Thank you for your feedback.

  • Nice place overall but had a few issues

    Overall, this was a nice clean relaxing place to stay but not without a few issues. My wife and daughter stayed with our dog, we were booked for 2 nights. The bed in the master was very uncomfortable and as a result we left a day early which is really unfortunate. Another issue was that the description says the first level is fenced off - while there is a fence there is a significant 8-10 feet area to the rear where it was not. For us, this meant we couldn’t really enjoy the area because of fear our dog would run off. And if we left our dog upstairs while we used the area he would’ve barked the entire time. Would recommend the description be fixed. A lot of good things to like about the house but considering we had to leave early I’m forced to mention these couple of items.
