Positives: very clean, deep soaking tub, roomy with enough beds and seating, kitchen is adequately stocked with pans, dishes, and eating utensils.
Negatives: Most Shenandoah trails are at least a 50 min drive. The dishwasher seems to have some idiosyncrasies that we couldn’t figure out. When we asked about an instruction manual, we were told to lift the door slightly when we closed it to get it to run properly. The neighbors have numerous dogs. They barked on and off all 3 nights we stayed. A larger dog came into our yard and barked aggressively at us and our dogs. It felt like an unsafe situation. We had to be cautious letting our dogs out and getting from the house to our cars. When I communicated to the individual managing the property on the second day of this happening, they replied that they didn’t know the neighbors and that I should call animal control if I was concerned. They followed up later to see if I had taken care of the situation. I didn’t to anything. We were leaving that day, my sister and I loaded the car and kept the kids & dogs inside. We were visited by the barking dog several times throughout the process. Things happen that are out of our control, but I was disappointed in the lack of response from whoever is managing this property from something as simple as fixing the dishwasher to a more serious safety concern.
If you don’t have kids or pets that need to use the yard, you’d probably be fine to stay here.

Came for a senior trip with my wife and 18-yr old son. We came to hike Shenandoah, and this house was very nice. Comfy living room, plenty of beds, fully equipped kitchen. We cooked every night and watched movies.
It’s tucked back in a quiet property surrounded by trees. There are neighbors on both sides, but it still felt secluded. Location was not particularly convenient. Kind of a lengthy drive no matter where you’re going. We spent a ton of time in the car, and there are very few convenient restaurants and stores.
House seemed recently updated, and in pretty good shape. Master bathroom shower is tiny, and all full bathrooms are downstairs. A half bath is upstairs. My wife has an allergy to cats. We didn’t see any hair, but definitely allergens from pets present.
The HVAC went out on our last night. Wasn’t a huge deal. It was the only warmer day we were there, but would’ve been a bummer to stay in for long. Couldn’t figure out the dishwasher (probably user error), and no garbage disposal in the sink. Limited towels available. Outdoor garbage is far across the back yard (creepy at night). Nothing deal breaking, just the little things.
Not rushing back, but this was a pretty good experience. Nice job guys.
