• Simple beauty in El Paso

  The location of the house had a view of the mountains. It was located in a safe, quiet area and had ample room for everyone. It included a complete kitchen, dining , room, and breakfast nook. It was clean and welcoming. Thank you to Elizabeth for helping me to be able to check in later in the day.

• What could have been

  The host was nice and communicative.

  Unfortunately, there were issues immediately uncovered and put a damper on our exciting 5 day trip.

  Here is a summary of the issues encountered:

  1) The pool was dirty so had to contact host and she had her pool guy come out and clean it for use. Ultimately, this was THE best part of the property after being cleaned as got a lot of use.

  2) Not enough pool towels for the house - Host immediately took care of and provided additional ones.

  3) The central air conditioning in the house was not properly working. We read this note in a previous review months prior and incorrectly assumed it would have been fixed. The AC was registering a consistent 75-82 degrees in the house. The host contacted her AC guy and he just chalked it up to being "normal" so it never got fixed even after we discovered that all the vents throughout the house were closed.

  4) One hand towel in house so had to use bath and paper towels.

  5) Only 1 ceiling fan in the house was working.

  6) Fridge water/ice dispenser on door was not working. The freezer was also leaking on the kitchen floor.

  7) Water pressure in the house was very low.

  8) The listing was not recently updated as some of the furniture shown was different than in actuality.

  9) This is the grossest one....there were 2 COCKROACHES found in the kitchen & dining room.

  This property COULD be a gem with some improvement work but, based on the above, it requires a lot more TLC.

• Sad, old, broken house

  The house is older and needs maintenance. The kitchen doors/drawers need to be repaired, light fixtures don't work and the A/C was out. We also found a roach on our last day. Felt like the Motel 6 of the VRBO world.

  Review would not let me include colleagues as guests with me. It was a work trip.

  - We apologize for the maintenance issues you encountered, including the kitchen doors and drawers, light fixtures, and the A/C. We'll follow up with our maintenance team and make any necessary repairs.
  - The TV room fan remote went missing due to a previous guest, and we will be replacing the entire fan since finding a replacement remote has been challenging.
  - Regarding the insects, the home is situated near a canal, and with the high temperatures, it's possible for insects to enter if doors are left open. We'll take extra measures to prevent this from happening in the future.

  Could not of wanted any more! Loved the outdoor accommodation as much as the in door accommodation!
