We cannot say enough about our awesome stay! The house is so cute and clean. Loved all the small touches to make our stay easy and more comfortable. We were close to all the necessary things. Loved the the booklet with house rules, recommendations, etc. Can’t wait to come back and visit again.

This was a perfect home away from home during our long weekend stay in Durham! We would seek out this property to stay here again in future trips.

  • Busy, noisy corner, but easy hwy & speedy downtown access, beautiful decor, 1 Roku TV, very nice neighbor

    3/5

My Husband & I are well seasoned, vacation rental tenants, both domestic & international. The property contact was kind enough to allow us an early check-in; we arrived 1 hr early. This rental is new construction, so it presents as represented in marketing pics. Don't let the key lock box confuse you like it did us, LOL. Just above it is a fickle keyless entry pad.

When you touch the pad, we learned to just push the single #'s shown & then it will open to the full keypad so you can enter your 4 digit access code (everytime we left/returned to lock/unlock). One set of courtesy travel size toiletries were in the upstairs bathrooms. A large Maxwell House Coffee grinds, a box of green tea bags, 2 breakfast type snack bars, 2 bottles of H2O, as well as paper towels & toilet paper were available on arrival, which was a welcome standard. However, if the noise of motorcycles, trucks, & cars lulls you to sleep each vacation night, then please know this rental is located on the corner of a residential AND very busy road, especially at night. In contrast, you will have fast access to dwtwn Durham & easy hwy access. (Knightdale/Raleigh 50mins, CH 25mins, Cary, Apex, Hillsborough 35-40mins, ) If you're lucky, then you may meet Mandy & Jax (her GSD pup), who are the very kind long term tenants on the shared driveway. Although the marketing shows a driveway in the pics, property rules state to park on street (we missed this until our rainy arrival day; we received permission to unload in the drwy). It also states satellite TV, please know there is only 1 "Roku" TV in the house. Unless a traveler subscribes to Roku or the many other "apps", the traveler does not have access to local news or programming to acquaint a traveler to the area or enjoy basic channels. (But, one could view news in Conneticut, Phila, Britain, LOL) The internet connection for the same TV will be spotty during bad weather causing a frozen screen & frozen programming that did not resume where it left off, forcing one to rewatch from the beginning of say a movie (very old, rerun movies). Also, please know the "smart" TV offers no pause, FF, or rewind . We, esp my Hubby, found this Roku TV set up to be a great disappointment, especially in 3 days of bad weather, so much so, we departed a day early sacrificing hard earned money. 2 days into the trip my Hubby stumbled onto a "Roku pin" request by the TV for local news. (The covered front porch could not be a refuge from an upset, TV watching, frustrated Hubby, in the rain because the cushions were wet on arrival & remained wet during our planned 5 night stay) Yes, we texted the property contact in hopes to have access to some "regular TV" during days of rain, but this request was left without a reply. (A pin decline would have been received with our understanding due to security; we were just hopeful for temporary access during the stay) Once home & contacting Evolve by email of our early departure, we then heard back that 2 unanswered texts (Roku pin & early deparure) were due to a new phone transition. Although the property is nicely decorated, families will need to bring their own games (the TV credenza stored 1 very old box of checkers), booster seats, &/or highchair, etc. If you need neck support, then consider bringing your own pillows. The property had Ralph Lauen pillows seen when stripping bed for check out, but they were as flat as pancakes giving us both daily neckaches. We are in our 50's, so we do appreciate that younger generations may enjoy streaming & have paid access to an abundance of apps. However, the travel market consumer of any age should have access to standard, basic TV amenities at this price point. Although this a lengthy review of things we would want to know b4 booking, this is a clean, nicely decorated, centrally located property. Happy travels!

  • By far the best !!!

    5/5

This is the best property we have ever stayed in!! The neighborhood is lovely, the house is immaculate and check-in was as described. Every detail made us smile; from the high quality linens to a beautifully stocked kitchen to easy access to Netflix. We could not have been happier!! The home is full of light and a simple, inviting aesthetic plus very comfortable beds. If we return to Durham we won’t stay anyplace else!!!
