    This is a very nice home- great outdoor space, clean, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and plenty of towels. Enjoyed our stay. Would be helpful for more explicit directions to the trash facility. We will be back!

  • Fabulous porch

    This property was beautiful overall, and the covered porch was fabulous. We spent most of our time there, enjoying the outdoors, the fireplace, and the large TV. Would definitely return.

    Furnishings are comfortable and thoughtful. The unit had mountain charm but it wasn’t furniture cobbled together from a thrift store, as can sometimes be the case. The porch with fireplace and view was wonderful for evenings.

  • Lovely property

    Very pleasant; spacious accommodations. HVAC went out, could not be repaired while we were there (10 days.) Not owners' fault, but would have been nice to have cold air due to high humidity in the home caused by rain almost every afternoon. Other than that, very nice.

  • The location was on top of a mountain and the drive was horrible.

    The duplex was good but the location was on the top of a mountain and the drive was terrible. The information for the location was 5 miles from Ingles. The drive took 20 minutes of a winding road. The water was off for over 6 hours and we could not shower after being on Lake Glenville. We have been to Cashiers with our Grandboys and stayed in much better locations.

    Hi Margaret, we always appreciate hearing from our guests. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following: On occasion, all homes, mountain or other, suffer outages, be they water, power, cable, or internet, and all are beyond the control of the owners of those homes. I’m sorry you suffered the water outage, the worst of the utilities to be without, but I’m glad it was only 6 hours rather than the more frequent outages lasting days at my principal home. I regret that this outage sullied your stay.
    Homes in the mountains are often on winding roads and stores, not on every corner. In the case of my home, the winding roads are easy to drive and navigate until the last three turns in the neighborhood. We declined to even try the driveways of quite a few homes when we were looking to buy, and we rejected some very nice homes because they were much more remote while still being fairly close to town as the crow flies.
    Rather than being on some remote aerie, my home is atop one of the few places with a large, relatively flat, and easily walkable green space for kids to play and us older folks to walk for exercise without the challenges of steep terrain. My home is at 3800 ft. Lake Glenville is at 3500 ft, only 300 feet below in the valley. We are at one of the lowest homesites in Trillium, the high ones perhaps 1,000 feet above us.
    Ingels is usually a 10-12 minute drive for us, but we aren’t there during the busy months. The supermarkets at our flatlands homes are 10-15 minute drives, the closest 4 miles away.
    I’m told that both Cashiers and Highlands are typically backed up with traffic during July. I considered a home in Cashiers, but the one we liked was in fact on a mountain and inaccessible much of the year while also being hostile to walking for my physically handicapped daughter. It too was a nice place with a terrific view, but, like my home, just outside town and not next door to shopping and restaurants.
    It sounds as if you liked my home but found the location unsuitable for you. Taking all things into account, we found our home to be as close to nirvana as one can hope for in a home with a view of the mountains. I’m sorry it did not fit you as well. We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. Thank you for taking the time to write your review.
