Directions lead us directly to cabin. The entrance is a gravel drive that we scraped the bottom of our van on since it dropped a small angle and had some wash out. We had to rewash all the plates, pots, pans, and silverware because there was food stuck to them. There was a moldy spoon in the drawer. We also had to rewash all the towels because they had a strong mildew/urine smell. You can't read the numbers on the dials to set temp on the oven and stove top. Just had to guess what temp we were cooking our thanksgiving meal at. The rest of the stay was as advertised.

Hi Brady, we want every guest to arrive at a vacation home that's 100% ready, so cleanliness and comfort are top priorities for us. After reviewing your feedback, we’ve followed up with the homeowner, who shared the following:
- We regret that the cabin did not meet your expectations. Our commitment to a clean and secure environment is unwavering, and we take immense pride in our accommodations. Our guest contacts are always available to address issues during your stay, and we urge you to contact them promptly for a more comfortable experience.
- We are accustomed to providing five-star experiences, as evidenced by many great reviews. I have noted your feedback and discussed these issues with property management. The HOA maintains the road and constantly works on it. However, due to recent rainstorms and Hurricane Milton, more work is needed, and they are progressing daily. I will advise future guests to proceed with caution, as unpaved mountain roads can change due to weather.
We do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.
This place hasn’t been cleaned in months. I have photos of huge dust clumps on the floor, the floor is grimy, there was a moldy coffee filter inside the coffee machine, past guests’ belongings were still present, and our guest contact has been no help as she is “waiting to hear back from the owner.” What kind of cabin getaway is covered in dust and dirt?! I get that it’s in the middle of the woods but I paid big money to stay in a clean vacation rental. It was also never disclosed in the booking information that there were parameters on the AC unit, you can’t cool below 73 degrees. It’s nearly june! I have a health condition that causes me to over heat very easily and when we informed our guest contact of this, she said “well we have 67 open on the same road!” But we literally saw guests pull into it after we did. Have never been this disappointed by a vacation EVER! Do not book here and DO NOT book with Evolve!!!
Shared from the owner:
"We regret that the cabin did not meet your expectations. Our commitment to maintaining a clean and secure environment is unwavering, and we take immense pride in our accommodations. Upon your arrival, you contacted the primary property contact to inquire about the air conditioning not being able to be set lower than 73 degrees. She did reach out to me, the owner, and was informed that the minimal temperature setting was set lower than the industry recommended standard for short-term rentals. She promptly reported back to you and we never heard anything further regarding this issue. You did not inform us of any medical condition that required a lower temperature setting. I have had several guests with medical conditions stay at our cabin with no complaints. We have ceiling fans in each room that are available to move the conditioned air throughout the cabin to offer an adaptable environment inside the cabin. I have taken note of your feedback and will include the temperature setting details in our listing to ensure transparency for future guests.
Without notifying us about your concerns about the cleanliness of the cabin, we were unable to address your concerns and provide a swift resolution. The cabin had been cleaned within a week due to a prior guest reservation the prior week, so it had not gone months without cleaning. I am unsure who you saw pulling into the cabin as you were leaving, but the cabin has not been reserved since your departure and more than likely, it was someone who was lost. No previous guest content was found inside the cabin during cleaning and I’m unsure what items you are referring to. Our guest contact is at your disposal to address any issues or concerns during your stay, and we urge you to contact them promptly with all concerns for a more comfortable experience.
As is evidenced by the many great reviews, we are accustomed to providing five-star experiences and look forward to this property hosting many happy travelers!"
We enjoyed our 2 night stay very much. Cabin was very clean and met all of our needs. The front door is hard to open and shut. (This does not take anything away for our experience) we loved the cabin and would stay again.
Cabin is close to town and supplies. It’s in a beautiful area. We visited waterfall and swinging bridge! Stop at welcome center and get ideas for hikes and restaurant recommendations.
Make sure to read the map at entrance to cherry log mountain. Need a good car, preferably SUV. Road is very bumpy and has pot holes. Our GPS took us to a wrong entrance. Make sure you enter at Cherry Log Mountain sign.
Cute little cabin. Rustic, but cozy.
