• Great neighborhood... slightly misleading home

  Arnold is lovely and the neighborhood is beautiful and easy to navigate. The home having "lots of stairs" is accurate - they are a doozy! Parking in the cul-de-sac is helpful, and the home is easy to find. The beds and linens are comfy, and the watching the sunrise through the trees is inspiring...

  That said, some of the home description is misleading. It has central heating, but the property manager (PM) controls it remotely - you must contact her for change requests. Upon check in, we were told to take our own trash when we left. The local disposal site is closed Wed and Thurs, which posed a problem for us - the PM offered no help. Also upon check in, we were greeted by a dead scorpion in the hallway, a beeping outdated smoke detector, and cobwebs hanging from the lights/ rafters inside. We found the deck in the photos to be less than photographed, as the umbrellas and chairs were strewn about and there was poop on the deck. It gave us the impression that no one had been there in a while. When we contacted the PM, she assured us thay she had pest control and not to worry about the detector, she would take care of it for the next guests. The kitchen cookware is very basic. The teflon pans are scratched, and cooking utensils are scarce. She does have ample dinnerware though. The pool table is a fun addition although hard to use in it's current orientation. FYI- There are no toiletries (but ample toilet paper) and no shoes allowed inside the home.

  -The guest contacted us at check-in to adjust the thermostat, which we set to their desired daytime and nighttime temperatures. This setting remained throughout their stay, and we did not hear any further concerns on the matter.
  
  -Regarding the trash policy, we provided this information several days prior to check-in.
  We avoid providing bear-resistant trash cans due to frequent bear activity in the area, as these containers are often overturned or left unsecured. To reduce the likelihood of attracting bears, we ask guests to remove trash themselves, minimizing potential issues with improperly secured containers. This approach helps maintain a safer environment for both guests and wildlife.
  
  -We understand that issues like a smoke detector battery failing are difficult to anticipate, and we assured the guest it would be replaced for future visitors. We also clarified that we maintain regular pest control, and while local scorpions are present, they are not harmful. Although the guest did not mention any debris on the deck, we suspect local wildlife may have been responsible, as these occurrences can happen quickly in the area. Our efforts aim to provide a clean and well-maintained environment for all guests.
  
  -The cabin underwent a thorough, professional deep cleaning just prior to the guest’s arrival, conducted by a reputable cleaning company specializing in annual deep clean services. Given the attention to detail and quality of this service, we find it unlikely that cobwebs would have remained on the light fixtures
  
  -Many of our guests have highlighted the well-stocked kitchen and the spacious game room as standout features that enhance their experience. We’re pleased these amenities contribute to an enjoyable stay, and we continually strive to keep them well-maintained and ready for each visitor.

• Great time in Arnold

  Joyce's place was great. It was just as advertised - clean and comfortable. The kitchen was nicely equipped and the beds were comfortable. The pool table was a bonus. The steps were a challenge for my 85 yr old dad, but we knew about that in advance and were prepared to help him. Heads up...day use of the community pool facility is steep...$20 per person per day.

• Beautiful modern cabin

  We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful modern cabin. The kitchen was very well-equipped. The cabin was immaculate and modern. It was well-located near all ammenities and activities we were interested in. We enjoyed the lake very much as well.

  I was made to feel right at home in this clean, cozy, and very charming chalet. For any confusion read online, there are in fact both fans and A/C. Would definitely love to return!
