The location was off the beaten path (which we loved) and the house was beautiful. Plenty of room for our family of four. However the 1st floor smelled like pet urine and it was hard to spend time down there. The decks were a highlight and morning coffee and evening wine was sipped.

You will need 4wd to get to the house, but it is worth it! Beautiful treed property and nice layout to the house.

We stayed here for almost 3 weeks, and had a wonderful experience. The house is in a great location, giving you access to lots of activities, but with a remote feel that provides privacy and a bit of solitude. There are certainly other homes close by, but when sitting on the beautiful porches you’ll forget that.
Speaking of porches, sunrise viewed from the upper deck is worth getting up early for. Afterwards, the sun can be pretty intense, so we moved down to the lower deck for morning coffee. The upper deck is perfect for evening happy hour!
The location provides easy access to great hiking trails, and some of the best fishing in Colorado. Do be aware that the elevation is above 11,000 ft, so take some time to acclimate to that. BTW – be sure to lock your car at night. I forgot to do that once, and believe it or not, a bear actually opened the car door and spent some time looking around inside!

The House was just wonderful. Spacious, very clean and the best stocked kitchen of all the rentals I’ve booked. They thought of everything if you chose to bake or cook dinner at home. Beds were comfortable, living room furniture too. Beautiful grounds, very peaceful and quiet.
The house manager, Mason, was wonderful and quick to respond to our questions.
Getting to and from the house was not so wonderful. The dirt road we took for about 5 miles was very bumpy, with washboards and rocks everywhere. If we return we would definitely rent an AWD SUV. That road was not meant for a sedan! Please take this alternate route which the owner recommends. Although longer (about 5mi) it is much better than where Google maps will send you. Both routes are awful but recommended route much better.
From the Owner: "We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in Colorado and that you found the cabin an excellent choice! The roads to the cabin are typically well-maintained but can be a little bumpy the higher you go. It is however still easily passable in 2nd vehicles during the summer months. The route stated in the listing is much easier than the route that any directions app may take you."
We took a break from the regular day-to-day and went away with our dog. We enjoyed the location. A TV would be nice on the main level Living Room.
