Take one of the 22-foot fishing pontoons (available for rent prior to arrival) out for some fun on Red Cedar Lake. The pontoons feature 4-stroke Honda engines with 50 horsepower and seating for 10 people. You can also go for a peaceful stroll along the shore for a quiet afternoon.
From Red Cedar Lake you can also access Balsam Lake and Hemlock Lake giving you 2,800 acres of water to explore. After working up an appetite, drive 12 miles to downtown Rice Lake for lunch. Afterward, you can check out local cheese houses, microbreweries, the Rice Lake Speedway, or browse the shops in town.
Be sure to make a reservation at Stout's Island Lodge with a rotating menu and tremendous lake views. Drive 7.7 miles to the town of Birchwood, known as the bluegill capital of Wisconsin. Grab your golf clubs and take the car or pontoon to Tagalong Golf & Resort in the warmer months or drive 15.6 miles to Christie Mountain for a day spend on the slopes.
Adventure seekers can take advantage of the nearby snowmobile and ATV trails for an exciting day. Make sure to plan a few day trips to nearby destinations including Hayward 36 miles away, Eau Claire 70 miles away, or Minneapolis 114 miles away.

Winter Vacation!
5/5 We had a great stay! We had ages from 2 to 42. The kitchen was great for prepping meals. We did a fantastic Prime Rib in the oven. The furniture and beds were comfy, plenty of blankets and pillows! Bathrooms were clean, great towels, and stocked with necessities. The views are Fantastic!!! Gary was super helpful along the way and throughout. 10/10 would recommend a stay here. We are hopping to plan a summer stay so we can utilize the deck and 3 season porch!

Wisconsin Summer Lake Home
4/5 Our family of six very much enjoyed our stay in Rice Lake. We were able to rent a pontoon from the homeowners which gave us the ability to explore the lakes and have some much-needed R&R. The ability to have the boat truly improved our time there.
The homeowners are as kind as could be and made a special effort to see that we had a lovely week.
The home fit us well with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The big back desks allowed us bonding time outside for big family meals and game time.
The reasons for the 4 stars are that the lower bathroom was too small with a tiny shower and small sink. Also, the house was less clean when we checked in than I had expected. While I understand summer is a very busy time with back-to-back guests, the owners should spend more time cleaning between guests.
Fishing and fun
5/5 We had three generations who enjoyed the extra space and different levels for a week of family fun. Each evening we ended with a group fire. Thanks for the unlimited wood, Gary. Great fishing and beautiful deck.

We had a wonderful stay at RCLN Lodge!
5/5 The cabin was clean, well kept, stocked and as advertised. We had fun exploring the 3 lakes, fishing and enjoying all things summer at the lake! Gary was a very friendly, responsive host making sure our stay was tailored to what we wanted. We would stay again!
