  • Decent Stay

    2/5

The property is updated. The location was perfect for our stay very close to the highways. The parking was tough, it is on a slopped drive way in the corner. There is also a family with a disabled child, be careful not to block the driveways. The property could have been cleaner. It didnt look like they did much for our stay. We did speak with the property manager and she helped out but was not impressed for the price.

  • Nice amenities, but needs a few adjustments

    4/5

We rented the house, because we were coming from AZ and staying with relatives from TX for the funeral of an immediate family member in WA. We didn't want to go out to restaurants etc during this time, just have some quality family time together. The house and kitchen have many nice amenities, however it sleeps 8-9 people. There were 6 of us. It's a lovely, big house but a small dining table with only 4 chairs. We found that odd and difficult. Also, a warning to anyone with allergy/asthma/scent sensitivities...the home is HEAVILY FRAGRANCED!!! I was living on meds and my rescue inhaler as a result. The bed linens the 1st night gave me a horrible migraine. We washed them twice with my unscented laundry sheets, and we STILL couldn't get it out! The pantry closet had scented trash bags and ? Had to open patio doors and air out the kitchen just to go into the pantry. I brought my own set of towels, unscented soaps, dish soap, laundry sheets, etc. To protect myself...but everyone in our group agreed, the "fragrancing" everywhere was just too much. One last caution, the wooden stairs are extremely slippery. Shoes aren't allowed in the home. We were all wearing our socks. We both have 2 story homes with wood stairs where we live, so we're used to them. But they must put some kind of polish on the wood that makes them so slippery. My sister in law slipped and took a bad fall down the stairs the first day and nearly ended up in the emergency. Once she was finally able to move and get up, she could tell nothing was broken, but she has multiple very bad bruises and a lot of pain. I left the owner a note, suggesting some carpet grips on the stairs for safety/liability sake. We still respected the "no shoes" policy, but had we known, we all could have brought socks with grips or non skid slippers. We were 6 adults aged 18 - 72. So it was particularly scary for all of the older members, esp w medical issues. But it could easily be addressed in a nice, decorative manner. So, bring some, if you stay here. The home is well maintained, nice, new appliances, thoughtful little touches, pleasing decor, great layout for our needs. We all came from warm climates into 50s and rain, so we made good use of the gas fireplace!! The furniture was comfortable. It was obvious the owner has tried to make this a really nice experience and it was just what our family needed during this difficult time. A few little adjustments to the stairs, fragrance, and more dining seating would be A+
