Charming water front property with beautiful views and sunsets, and all the comforts of home. The outdoor patio furniture was very comfy and cozy and provided the perfect setting for morning coffee and sunset dinners. An added bonus was watching Blue Herons feed. The master bedroom bed was heavenly—comforter and pillows were down or down like. The only comment to the owners would be that portable a/c units are a must if temps are 80 degrees or higher. Even with ceiling fans and windows open, the unit is too hot. The owner was very responsive to this feedback and provided an additional portable a/c unit to make my stay comfortable (the unit came with one in the master bedroom but an additional one was needed for the common areas). The location is remote, but Stowe and Burlington are easy day trips, ~ an hour or less away. There are plenty of activities and sites in St. Albans if you want to stay local. There is a charming country store within walking distance that has an ice cream window—a line forms in the evenings for those who come to watch the sunsets. I tried a Maple Creamy and Black Raspberry Creamy (soft serve) and it was delicious! There’s also a small marina that rents pontoon boats and a state park that is less than 10 minutes away that offers swimming and ferry access. Overall, I was very happy with my rental- the waterfront setting, accommodations and proximity to other areas of interest.
