  The view is breath taking. the area and the neighborhood is lovely. We had everything we needed except a crabtrap. a couple of those on the property would make it even more amazing. My favorite spot was the adironack chair facing the river. A few days were very hot, and the jelly fish put a damper on water fun, however we did rig up a full body water suit which worked great. Deborah was very responsive to a plumbing issue which got fixed early in the week. Mark from Miller plumbing did a great job with a broken valve. Urbanna Market is decent in pricing and the staff go out of their way to be helpful. Something Different and Little Jimmies had some great food at a decent price. Kings Dominion is an hour away and that was great for my grandson. the house is very comfortable and close to town. The mattress in the middle bedroom dips in down the middle, but once my husband moved to the livingroom, it was great for me. We had a great time and would visit again.

• Relaxing river stay

  We had a very nice relaxing stay at the river. We spent a lot of time outside reading, watching the birds, and listening to the river. There were several very comfortable areas to sit with shade to enjoy the view. When the heat kicked in, we went into the house where the open kitchen, living and dining areas all have wonderful views of the river. We enjoyed watching the osprey, heron, crows and a family of ducks. The kayaks are a nice plus. The river was beautiful and calm in the morning and evening which was perfect to go kayaking. The lower dock is damaged but is being repaired, which will make it much easier to get the kayaks in and out. The location is great, close to town, shops, groceries and restaurants. I recommend Something Different, delicious seafood and BBQ. I hope to stay again in the future. I already miss the river view!

• Great outside, but for 70 year olds some concerns ...

  Enjoyed our stay with the wonderful outdoor spaces, great views and quiet (apart from the nesting ospreys). Easy access to house and patio areas, with only a few steps on the deck and jetty. A good view from living room, even on a rainy day. Debra (owner) was good at connecting with us about some concerns.

  When we first arrived, the cottage looked and smelled clean, but we found the floor and shower needed some attention. Two blinds were damaged, but Debra had warned us. Bathroom was tight (for us), and we could not get into the 1/2 bath. Patio door was not easy to open and close for us.

  Amazing location was great for resting, praying, reading and drawing. And doing nothing at all!

  -I'm pleased that I was able to promptly address your concerns during your stay at my property.
  -I extend my sincerest apologies if the cleanliness of the home did not meet your expectations. Please rest assured that the property undergoes thorough professional cleaning between each guest's stay, including bleaching the shower, vacuuming, and Swiffer Wet cloth cleaning. I personally inspect the house and I am sorry I did not do as thorough job as I should have.
  -While the full bathroom adheres to standard dimensions, we acknowledge that the half bathroom is relatively compact. It's worth noting that we haven't received complaints about this in the past.
  -I'm sorry to hear that you encountered difficulty with the sliding door. To assist our guests, we've placed a sign on the door providing clear instructions on how to open and close it.
  -A new mattress was delivered to the Master Bedroom on June 3rd to enhance the comfort of future guests.

• Cute cottage with lovely outdoor space and amazing river views

  Pros: Cute little cottage with a wonderful outdoor space and beautiful, expansive river views – exactly what our souls needed! The beds were comfy with cozy lamps for lighting, and the kitchen and dining area were spacious. We loved the colorful and whimsical decor. We appreciated the stocked Keurig coffee maker, plenty of beach towels, and the firepit outside, which we enjoyed very much. Cons: an inattentive cleaning crew. The surfaces and bathrooms were very clean, but the floors had been forgotten about which left us vacuuming and mopping upon arrival. A frustrating start to vacation. Debra did offer to refund part of the cleaning fee which we appreciated. Living room furniture needs an upgrade – especially the two wicker chairs which were strange and uncomfortable. The cushions on the wicker couch were dirty as well so we really didn't feel like we could cozy up in the living room. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back for that outdoor space and those river views.
