  • Unfortunate state of kitchen cleanliness

    This place is has nice furnishings with great amenities. However, there were several housekeeping items that added up to an uncomfortable stay. There were live and dead cockroaches. It was concerning to put the two year old down to bed on a floor air matress with possible cockroaches running on him. The dishes in dishwasher were not run and smelled awful, as well a nasty funk in the sink because the disposal hadn't been run. Several dishes were put away dirty and needed to be rewashed. The griddle was caked with scorched old food. The first night was spent cleaning.

    Contacted Evolve and Vrbo without response. Communication with cleaner was ineffective, as his response was "It appears your email went to the spam folder. Had I received the information the first day I would have gotten these issues handled right away. We don't expect our guests to take care of these issues." I was hoping for an apology or maybe a reduced cleaning fee. It was unfortunate and we won't be staying with this location or Evolve again.

We do want our guests to arrive at a vacation home that is 100% ready for their stay, so we take the cleanliness of our property seriously. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
    - We use a professional cleaning crew to ensure that the home is cleaned and sanitized between guest stays. Our crew does a walk-through of the home before all guest arrivals and we’re confident that the home met our high cleanliness standards before your check-in.
    - We immediately hired a professional extermination team to treat the interior of the home right away. The exterior of the home does receive ongoing pest control that manages and protects the home from these issues. We take issues like this seriously and thank you for your feedback.
    - We do provide guests with details about who to contact with any concerns during the stay. We've confirmed that the pre-stay email was sent to you before your arrival, which included detailed check-in instructions and other important information. We encourage guests to use the phone numbers provided for the best response and service. There was a technical issue with the Vrbo app that caused problems with having Evolve respond to your request.
    - The cleaning team also mentioned that when you connected with them you said you didn't require further assistance. If a problem is not resolved, then please reach out again to us directly during your stay. We want to resolve your concerns and make your stay more comfortable.
    - We regret our home was not up to your expectations. We truly strive to go above and beyond for our guests and are confident that future guests will have a wonderful stay!

    Well the house itself was ok. The bedrooms were laid out well and the house is in a great location. The pool is right across the street and is very nice. However, the house was disgusting. The garage was full of spiders, bugs and cockroaches. And was a mess. We had it to clean it before we could even pull vehicles in. There are cockroaches everywhere. The air conditioning wasn’t working. The back door handle was broken. There was no dustpan for the broom. There were 6 glasses in a house that sleeps 18, the fan in the master only stays at one speed or else it doesn’t work. There was garbage on the bedroom floors, among other things. It’s like no one did a walk through to make sure it looked nice. When we contacted Nick, he was very rude. He didn’t respond in a professional manner. He called us professional complainers. He made us feel like idiots when we told him the air conditioning wasn’t working. He didn’t send someone right away. We worked on the air-conditioning for an hour ourselves because he wouldn’t respond. We tried calling and he wouldn’t answer. After getting very heated through texting he finally sent someone to fix the a/c and sent some more glasses on our last day. Overall very disappointed with the house and the management of the house. The location is great . If they took better care of the property it would have been great.

    First of all, thank you for staying at our home, Zion Abode. We, too, love the location. Hurricane and Zion Park are such beautiful areas. Living across the street from the pool is a great perk, too. 

    Secondly, we are so very sorry that your stay was less than desirable. It is just not acceptable to us to have the house and garage anything but immaculate for our guests. 

    We have changed and added several operational processes to make sure these issues do not happen to any of our future guests. 

    Regarding the air conditioning, we believe that the guests who stayed before you set the air conditioning so low that the pipes froze. This takes several hours to remedy. While we accept that this can be a problem because of the high temperatures in the area, not being treated respectfully and timely is never okay, in any circumstance. We apologize sincerely and have made changes to make sure this does not happen again, ever. 

    We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We appreciate you staying at Zion Abode and would love to have you stay with us again.

  • Beautiful place, plenty of space

    This home is so spacious and beautifully furnished. There was plenty of room and sleeping arrangements for our large family and the location, right across the street from the club house/pool, was amazing. We loved the little astroturf backyard area and the private hot tub was perfect for relaxing after long, fun, active days. The beds were comfortable and we found that the home had everything we needed for our long weekend stay. Will definitely be staying here again!
