Very nice cabin, nice view, only the wifi services have very little data and I think it's a shame that they charge for cleaning if you have to leave it clean.
PROS- This property is beautifully nestled in the Mountains of Duck Creek Utah; it is Semi secluded- neighbors are a decent distance away/they are not on top of each other. Beautiful area for getting out and enjoying what Mother Nature has to offer! Just down the Hillside from the Cabin runs Strawberry Creek, depending on the time of year you visit it will be flowing or frozen, either are beautiful. The Cabin is well equipped for what you may need in the kitchen and bedding. The Electric Fireplace in the living room is a nice feature. It definitely gives off the rustic cabin vibe which is what we were looking for. Washer and Dryer are on premises, the Pool table in the Basement area is nice.
Notes to come prepared for a great experience- yes this is an older Cabin and the floors creek, they really creek. The person sleeping in the main level of the Cabin with others above in the loft are very affected by those above during the night, moving around in bed, going to the bathroom etc.
Wood Burning Stove is nice but, there was not any wood to burn to heat the house. it has just snowed a few days prior, so we weren't able to locate any dry wood. The Cabin doesnt have central heating, which is expected, however, to not have wood for the wood burning Stove or the Fire Pit was difficult, we had brought the Axe as mentioned in a review, but nothing to chop it with. The bedrooms are freezing, we located 2 space heaters, which worked well in the master bedroom, the Basement area with bathroom and pool table is literally like a freezer and the space heater isnt enough to heat the entire area to be able to enjoy this feature (worked good warming the bedroom in the basement) but to go to the bathroom during the night :(
Smell- Im not sure if this is an issue in Duck Creek or just property but there is a "sewer-musty smell" that is thru out the cabin consistently. Preparedness for guests: as mentioned it had snowed 2 days prior to our arrival. The driveway is a Ushaped gully. With that said, as the snow is melting it flows to the bottom of the driveway where you park. At night when the temps drop to 12 degrees, all the mud and melted snow refreezes. Snowplow from the road piles snow at the top of the drive on both sides. 1/2 bag of salt was all we had -no shovel, wood, tools anything that could be used to clear the mess in and at the top of the drive. Used the axe we brought to break the ice, had to walk quite a ways to find a shovel I could borrow. Had to get crafty
The cabin was built using available space well. Floors were a bit noisy but it's a cabin so not unexpected. Cabin was clean enough only eating utensils needed cleaning. Parking is a slight challenge due to steepness, just don't stop before you get to the top and you'll be fine. Fire pit and bbq were great. You might want to bring something to split wood.
