  • Cedar Creek Lake House

    2/5

Wrong code to get in door. We were burning up & our food was melting in the cars. A/C did not work downstairs our first night there!! My kids & Grandkids had to go home. A/C some what fixed for the remaining stay. Still very hot downstairs. Patio upstairs was filthy & glass sliding door. Sometimes the door would come off the tracks. Pool table & hot tub was so dirty & dusty, no one wanted to use them. Cannot get your boat to the so called private boat deck!! Tree stumps& a swamp in the canal. The only good thing was my Grandkids caught fish in the canal & made memories ❤️🫶

    5/5

Loved the stay in the Cedar Creek CC house. Erica was great at communicating with us promptly. House was just the right fit for our group that was down from Kansas attending my son's wedding in Scurry, Texas. We took advantage of the elevated patio over the inlet with fellowship time in the evening and also kayaking was great. We had to tweak a few things with Erica's blessing, but overall the experience was super. Dave S.

  • Ladies Group to Canton 2023

    3/5

While the photos of this property were quite flattering, if these few issues are addressed, as well as these suggestions are taken care of, it would encourage our group to book on our next Canton trip.

    ISSUES:

    1. Leaves in carport & ant piles on drive, filthy glass doors. Not a good first impression.

    2. Down electric wasn’t working upon check in. Contact person wanted to see if we could wait til next day…NO, as it was, we had to wait to get elec. on, & then entire space never cooled off anywhere close to upstairs, leading to 2 ladies not being able to sleep well.

    3. Down rug on the left side in den was curled up posing a safety hazard.

    4. Down bathroom, no drain cover in sink.

    5. Down bathroom, hand held shower head plastic holder is broke making it impossible to wash your hair. This became an inconvenience, as we had 6 ladies, now, sharing 2 showers.

    6. Down bedrooms recessed lights burned out making it very hard to see.

    7. Main level MBR recessed lights burned out.

    8. Main level MBR light globe on ceiling fan looks as though it might fall off, needs to be adjusted.

    9. Main level GBR recessed lights burned out.

    10. All Kleenex box covers empty.

    SUGGESTIONS:

    1. Leave laminated instructions for Nest, WI-FI TV’s, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer etc…maybe even local restaurants with delivery.

    2. And, finally, probably the most important item…please add at least one side rail at the carport steps to deck at access door.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Bonnie, we want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we apologize you experienced some issues during your trip. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
    - We appreciate your feedback and have taken prompt action to address your concerns. Here are our responses to your points:
The windows have been recently cleaned, hence the marks you observed are the residue from the recent cleaning.
Our handyman was dispatched immediately to rectify the tripped breaker downstairs upon notification.
The rug has been securely taped down to eliminate any safety hazards.
We will promptly fix the plastic holder for the hand-held showerhead in the downstairs bathroom.
There are no recessed lights in the downstairs bedrooms. However, all other lights are fully operational, and the dimmer needed to be adjusted.
The main level MBR's recessed lighting was also fully functional, and it's possible that there was confusion with the switches.
The absence of Kleenex box covers was not intentional, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.
Additionally, we will take your suggestions into serious consideration, and we plan to provide laminated instructions for various appliances and local amenities for future guests. Furthermore, we will ensure the installation of at least one side rail at the carport steps for enhanced safety.
Thank you for bringing these matters to our attention, and we look forward to providing an improved experience for you and our future guests.

  • Half the house was unusable

    3/5

The house was in a quiet and friendly community and I wish we could have enjoyed all that it could be, but the downstairs ac didn’t work so we couldn’t use half of the bedrooms, leaving my adult brothers to share the couch. Luckily, this wasn’t their first time doing that so no biggie but I’m sure others might not be thrilled. There was also a bug problem in one of the downstairs bedrooms and it’s attached bathroom. The hot tub was dirty when we arrived and would not heat. My brother owns his own pool company so we got it working and clean, but it was not usable on the trip. The positives to this house are that the views are beautiful and the outside decks are nice. It had all the things you need for cooking and if you find yourself needing something like trash bags, there’s a gas station really nearby and Brookshire’s 10 minutes away.
