I never write 1-star reviews, but I unfortunately feel the need to warn anyone who plans to stay here in the near future.
Communication was great leading up to our stay, but when we got to the condo, we were unable to get into the unit. The door code was not working. I reached out to the Guest Contact who responded fairly quickly and let us in remotely, letting us know that he had our check-in date wrong. I suppose that should have been the first red flag.
When we finally settled into the unit, we noticed ants all over the kitchen counter. Then, we saw them on the floor in the living area. We didn't feel comfortable putting our stuff on the ground, but we felt it was too late to ask for someone to come clean. While sleeping that night, we woke up to water drips from the bedroom A/C unit. Turns out it was leaking, so we had to turn it off. Then, when I went to the bathroom, I saw multiple cockroaches scurrying around in the toilet and in the shower. We had a hard time falling back to sleep that night.
In the morning, we reached out to the Guest Contact to let them know about the situation. He apologized, said that clearly the cleaner did not come, and that they would fumigate the apartment while we were gone. He also let us know that the A/C guy could not come to fix the A/C until Monday (our check-out day). We left the apartment for the day, hopeful that it would be clean when we returned.
Unfortunately, when we got back, there were still ants crawling all over the counter, more bugs in the bathroom, etc. We did not feel comfortable staying in the unit, so we left, booking a hotel elsewhere for the rest of our stay. We were refunded for the nights we did not stay in the unit; however, we were not refunded for the cleaning fee, which is why I am writing this review. I understand that mistakes happen, but in the future, I hope that the owner will recognize when a home is unclean and will refund guests appropriately.

- I'm always looking for ways to improve as a host so I appreciate your honest feedback. This has been the first time in 3 years that something like this has happened, and I apologize for all the inconvenience.
- We are happy to hear you were able to successfully enter the property. I do apologize that I made a mistake while setting up the door code for your arrival, but rest assured, it will not happen again. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.
- The water leak near the AC was fixed after we discovered that the leak was not from the AC but from the roof of the apartment complex, which was full of water due to the recent torrential rains. Our maintenance crew was able to fix the leak in the roof so all the issues have been resolved.
- Unfortunately, Puerto Rico had been going through 5 straight days of torrential rains and flooding before your stay with us, which may have contributed to pests being inside the apartment. A professional exterminator fumigated the apartment. They inspected the apartment 2 days later and confirmed all pests had been exterminated.
- I still needed to charge you a cleaning fee because you slept in the apartment, utilized beach and bathroom towels and the bedsheets also needed to be cleaned again. We did however authorize a refund for the nights not used considering you checked out ahead of schedule.
- While we do regret our home was not up to your expectations, we are happy to share that no issues were reported by the guests who stayed the following weekend.

For me the Labor day weekend is yearly my end of summer season. This year I rented Whispering Palm at Yunque Mar in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
The apartment was perfect and impeccable. It looks identically as shown in the reservation page, in fact I think prettier. It has everything you need. Was clean organized and comfortable. The complex and the neighborhood was very nice and friendly.
The beach is beautiful, a shame that due to the swells it was not suitable for swimmers. But even though, a walk at the beach was priceless.
The communication with William was clear, accurate without errors.
I will definitely rent Whispering Palm again. Thank you for sharing your piece of paradise.

We enjoyed out stay at the appartment a lot. If you are family with younger children that prefers to cook meals on your own and enjoy your dinner at the family dining table - this is a place for you. Fully equiped kitchen with EVERYTHING you might need, good size fridge and freezer, good overwiev of the pool area and clean and beautiful sand beach in a few minutes distance that most of the time is almost empty during weekdays.We wish good grocery and food the stores were closer, so car or Uber is a must to stay here.We will truly recommend this spot to everyone!
