  I attempted to email the host with the provided email 4 days prior to request an early check-in but received no response before the trip, so we didn't arrive early which was fine. When we arrived at the property, it was 40° in the house and we were incredibly cold for the First 2hours while we waited for it to heat up to a comfortable temperature. This was an anniversary vacation and a big selling point for us in choosing a rental was the hot tub, which we were very disappointed to find was dirty, and cloudy and had stuff floating in it. I, again, sent an email in regards to that and to see if it could be cleaned, but still got no response, so we were unable to utilize that. There is a pellet stove as a secondary source of heat, but we were only provided a half bag of pellets, although the bag says that an entire bag lasts 12 hours and our rental was for 3 nights.We planned to use the grill provided, but couldn't because the propane was empty, which was another disappointment. We found the overall cleanliness of the house fair, although we did find random empty water bottles, dry cereal, barrettes from previous guests, on the floors and dirty handprints on the sliding glass doors and the bathroom door. I don't know why the host never responded to my emails, but I've rented several Air BnBs and never had such little contact and it would have been appreciated to receive a response.

• Disappointing Experience

  I recently stayed at this property with my family, and unfortunately, I can't say I had a great experience. I had high hopes based on the photos and reviews, but reality fell far short of my expectations.

  The photos are outdated and the cleanliness of the place left much to be desired. Upon arrival, we noticed dirt on the surfaces and some areas that appeared to have been overlooked during cleaning. The bathrooms had mildew in areas, and the kitchen and appliances were not as clean as they should have been.

  Given the overall experience, I felt that the price we paid for this property was too high. It did not live up to the expectations set by the listing, and I have stayed in much better places for a similar price.
