This is our favorite vacation place! Always a nice peaceful getaway. The Elk were not around much this year but had one beautiful bull who put on quite a show for us. Always hate to leave made it a day long this year and still wasn’t long enough extend next years even long❤️
Fabulous, spacious lodge with magnificent Allegheny Highlands views and a constant flow of wildlife as entertainment. We thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving family vacation at Bugle Hollow!
Incredible weekend at the Buggle Hollow Lodge. The hard work and love that this family have put into this place was absolutely over the top. We are so very blessed to have people in this world that would share this place with others. We spent time with family, seen LOTS of elk right outside the door (which was out of this world). Definitely renting this in the future. The owners have thought of everything to supply this place. My grandson wanted an English muffin with butter and brown sugar, Unfortunally I did not have brown sugar with but low and behold there was a container in the pantry. You made a little boy very happy. 5 Star place.

Originally from Weedville, PA (approximately) 25 miles West on Rte 555 & currently reside in St Marys, PA I first learned about Bugle Hollow Lodge(large billboard) last Deer Season while deer hunting in Winslow Hill Area.
Every Fall we typically stay in the Winslow Hill area for an extended weekend & this year decided to try out Bugle Hollow Lodge because of the fact that the building accommodates 15 guests & was only 1/4 of the Hicks Run Elk Viewing area.
We arrived Thursday Night & were greeted by a herd of 15 Elk (Bulls & Cows) who remained in the nearby field until Saturday Morning.
Hoping that we would see some Elk throughout our stay although we were not staying in our usual area (Winslow Hill) much to our surprise the Elk hung out in the nearby field until Saturday Morning which was totally unexpected !!!
Not only did the Bulls give us a display of sparring throughout the evening & daytime but Friday Morning @ 3 & 5 AM we were awakened by the “Buggling” of the Bull Elk to the extend that they sounded like they were right outside the bedroom windows…
Enough said about the Elk…the Lodge was absolutely “amazing” & believe it was only two years old or newer. The Lodge had plenty of space & every imaginable amenity possible which was great because it rained probably 75% of the time during our entire stay.
Given the location of Bugle Hollow Lodge (Huston Hill Rd) approximately 250 yards of of Rte 555 & only about 10 miles from Benezette & 5 miles from Driftwood. Plenty to do & see within 25 miles of the Lodge.
Already “booked” our stay for the same time in 2024 & even if you’re not able to book a stay during the Elk Rut there’s plenty to do throughout the year especially in the summer time if you enjoy golf (Emporium Country Club) which is a beautiful 18 Hole Golf Course located only about 15 miles from Bugle Hollow & not to mention kayaking, hiking, & mountain bike riding.
Plenty to do & highly recommend you give “Bugle Hollow Lodge” a try & you “WILL NOT” be disappointed!!!
Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect, from the helpful friendly owners, to the clean & spotless home. Location and views are next to none. Wildlife the greatest entertainment. This placed is so well furnished and the perfect place to go and unplug. Bring your clothes and some food and you will not want to leave. Spacious and comfortable for our family (5 couples) gathering. Great gathering places and still have your private space. We have stayed in over 10 really nice homes across the country in the last 4 years, but this one tops them all ! Advise, do not roam into the feed plot areas as that could ruin the wildlife movement so close to the home.
