Got inside easy enough, the lockbox worked fine. 1st things 1st, had to use the bathroom and noticed the toilet brush was super dirty withbits of dried toilet paper and poop on it - next to a bunch of cleaning chemicals on the floor, which is what initially caught my eye since we have a 1yr old. The shower looked nice and someone had clearly put thought into the designs in the toilet paper rolls and a few other things like that, so I thought, maybe the dirty toilet brush was an oversight and moved on. Then i noticed the kitchen looked..less than nice. It had literal paper blinds with rips in them so someone outside could see in at night. That didn’t make me feel super safe with a pregnant wife and a 1 yr old daughter. There are curtain rods already mounted, why not just hang some cheap curtains for privacy? The floors of the house were sticky under our shoes, the closet with the washing machine and dryer had a poorly patched hole in the ceiling and pipes that weren't very secure - that area was a mess. There was a closet and a whole bedroom that were locked that, though understandable, didn't make us feel super comfortable. Idk what's behind that door, am i just supposed to assume you're doing the right thing? I'm pretty sure most of us check rooms in our own house when we've been gone a while, let alone a house we've never been in before. The beds were decent and the large TVs and yard were the best part. We stayed the 1st night bec it was 1am, we got a hotel the next day.

  • Nice stay: great option for someone with mobility issues

    5/5

This house was a good choice for our situation. My mother-in-law has limited mobility and cannot do stairs. Beds were very comfortable. As people who have rented many homes, usually more for enjoyment and vacation purposes, we have a few suggestions to make it even better. 1. Hand grip bar next to toilet ,house has a good setup for someone with mobility issues but needs bar next to toilet. 2. True coffee mugs, we did leave a few behind for future guests, we actually live nearby only rented due to mother in law’s mobility issues, our home has many steps. 3 Table and chairs for the beautiful deck. 4. More bathroom towels than 3, we brought extra from our home. 5. A more detailed explanation and description of how to use TV remotes. 6. A hairdryer 7. Possibly update oven/stove, fridge, and dishwasher - all workable I believe didn’t use oven or dishwasher. However, not as updated as the beautiful kitchen and new microwave! However, these are just suggestions to make a really good house absolutely wonderful. Bathroom was gorgeous and spacious great for someone with a walker! Great diner down the street- Golden Eagle Diner. Hospital, great park, and shops all near by. Mill Street is nearby with cute shops, restaurants and beautiful to walk around if looking for something nice to do. Owner/ manager was nice to work with and responsive. If we were ever in the need of a single level 2 bedroom house again in the area we would not hesitate to rent again.
