• NOT WORTH THE MONEY

  I booked this house because the pictures made it look very cute and clean. My husband arrived before me at 7 p.m. on our check-in day, May 7. When he opened the door, the house was a mess; it was filthy. I contacted the owners who apologized for the situation and came to the house. They said they didn't know about our reservation. They changed the sheets on the bed and wiped down counters in the bathrooms and in the kitchen. They said they would come back the next day to clean the rest of the house. THEY DID NOT! They didn't return to clean for three days. We were charged a ridiculous cleaning fee. Not sure where that was used.Examples of filth:Inch of dust on ceiling fansMold in showersFood crusted on refrigerator.Mold in dishwasherFood burnt to ovenFood splattered in microwaveDIRT (not dust) all over outside sitting areaDead bugs Cobwebs in corners of roomsWe were also charged a damage fee. Here is a list of broken items in the home when we arrived:Glass on stovetopHoles in second bedroom walls due to moisture from outdoors (Second so-called "bedroom" is actually the mudroom between the living room and the outdoor sitting area. All they did was put a bed in there and a dehumidifier.)Shelves in refrigeratorMirror in main bathroomThey say the house has lake access. It does not. It is five miles from the lake.Do not be duped by the pictures of this property. It is not what they say it is. It is not worth what they charging.

• Great place - Great location - Guest contact was frustrating

  We arrived a couple hours prior to a concert. Had problems getting in, when we called the guest contact (at least a dozen times), we got no answer. Had to hunt her realty business down through google/Facebook to get ahold of her partner....Once we got ahold of someone everything was amazing! Just a word of advice to update guest contact if the rep will be unavailable. Would have been 5 stars otherwise! Great place!

• Don't Waste Your Money - House Not What It Seems

  My husband arrived in Mead at 7 p.m. on check-in day, May 7. He had worked that day, so he was tired when he arrived at the house. When he walked in the door, the house was a mess. Nothing had been cleaned. We contacted the owners, who apologized, and came to the house quickly, telling him that they didn't know about his reservation until he called. They changed the sheets on the bed and wiped down the counters in the kitchen. When they completed these simple tasks, they said they would return the next day to clean the rest of the house. THEY DID NOT! When I arrived on May 9, I had to call them AGAIN to ask that someone come to clean the house. They sent someone on May 10. In other words, we were living in filth for three days before they even attempted to take care of their property. I took several pictures to show the state of this house. Unfortunately, there is no place to upload them on this review.

  We rent through VRBO several times a year. This is the first time we have experienced anything like this. The pictures on the site do not show the actual state of this house. The pictures on VRBO show a bright sun-filled home, very cute in its appointments. What it actually looks like is dank and dark with spider webs in the corners and broken appliances and mirrors. The outdoor space with a seating area and a grill, which is one of the main reasons I chose this house, was filthy, covered in a quarter-inch of dirt, not dust, DIRT.

  There are supposed to be two bedrooms in this house. The first is fine. The so-called second bedroom is a mud-room with a bed in it. The walls of this room are water damaged, which is why there is a dehumidifier in the room. The paper part of the sheetrock is coming lose from the gyp, meaning the walls are very fragile. My sister tried to plug her phone charger in and the outlet on the wall pushed through the sheetrock. There are holes in the walls in this supposed sleeping space. Also the ceiling fan, nightstand, and lamp were covered in an inch of dust. Oh, by the way, the floor in this room is falling in on the right side of the bed.

  The listing also says that the house has lake access. It does not. Access to the lake is about 5 miles away.

  We DO NOT recommend this house to anyone. Do not rent it! You will be utterly disappointed.
