We really enjoyed the 2night stay from 8/9-8/11. The sister that stayed with her husband spent her birthday in this cute, well decorated abode. The sister that rented the stay for the birthday sister came over, admired the cottage, walked down to the boat slips and up and around the road with the birthday sister. Both of us had a nice walk - even up and down the stairs (although there was a dog further up the road toward the point that was loose and barking but thankfully he didn't come up to the street (much to our great pleasure and safety). There was also another set of dogs (about 4 of them) fenced in the yard that came down the hill (of their fenced property) to -well bark at us walking - but fortunately, the owners were on their deck and called them away from the fence. While it doesn't have anything necessarily to do with the cottage, it did give us some consternation about exercising in the area. The cottage is very convenient to the channel water as it sits right above it, the awesome lake and its views, the town of Disney (proper), the long narrow bridge (goes from one side to the other), The Cove Club (which has great food and good portions), Langley (town), The Family Dollar/Dollar Tree and in the other direction Cosby's Catfish Restaurant and the Dollar General. There is a Post Office and two Police Stations as well as some other business and the State Park/Marina and plenty of places to fish and boat ramps. We totally loved the design feel of the cottage and the smaller touches were nice, from the fireplace (although we couldn't use it - like why would you in 100 degree weather), to the chair cushions for the deck hidden away in the patio bench; the half bath in the kitchen was a nice use of space and convenient for visitors, the large bedroom windows and yes even the washer/dryer tucked away in one of the closets.
Oh and the owners were great with responding and answering all of our questions - my advise is to send potential renters a "dropped pin" on Google just so people can go straight to the place instead of "look on Google" and not find the actually place. Also, if you can get there in daylight it's better - but if you have to arrive when dark, just drive slow so you don't drive into the water down on the right side - imho.
The only thing we would recommend is a Blender (we needed to make smoothies) and there wasn't one on property. If we venture back NE Oklahoma way, we would definitely try to stay here again.
