Property was nice. Charcoal grill broken. Starter button on gas grill broken had to start with a lighter. Very dangerous.

  • Nice, small, well kept cabin

    4/5

This is a nice and well kept cabin. Very comfortable for me and my husband and my pup. The cabin itself is quite small -- it worked well for the two of us and our pup, but I truly cannot imagine having more in there at all. Also, it would be a challenge for elderly or persons of size to be in the shower, negotiate the steeper outside steps, negotiate the rocks in the front and back of the cabin, etc. But, for us, it worked fine. The owner was very kind and called me beforehand to let me know that they had replaced the jacuzzi inside with a soaking tub, but had installed a hot tub in the back (and actually offered to send me pictures of the progress as that was happening, but that wasn't necessary to me, because, to me, this was an even better set-up to have a stand alone tub as well as a hot tub -- and she also offered to give us suggestions of places to go.) So, the owner was quite welcoming. A few drawbacks to the experience would be that we were given a 10 am check-out from Evolve, which wasn't horrible, but we rent a lot of VRBO's around the country, and 11 a.m. seems much more standard and a bit less stressful; the two rolls of toilet paper and one role of paper towels that they were willing to provide worked for us only staying 3 days, but seemed less than ideal given how much we paid to stay at the cabin (mind you, we did pay more than "usual" I think given that it was Spring Break, which we knew going in, but still, it seems like we shouldn't have to worry about tp on vacay); the towels they provided were perfectly fine, as there were more than two when we got there, but if there had been only two like Evolve told us there would be beforehand, that would also not have been ideal; there were many rules communicated to us beforehand from Evolve, which was fine, but there were several things (like, if you get there early, we will charge you $25 an hour... so, not knowing exactly how long it would take to travel to the cabin, I just thought, if we get there 15 minutes early on accident, I guess we will just sit in the car?) that caused stress and didn't seem quite as welcoming of an experience as we would have liked. I think that this tends to happen when companies manage the properties. Also, not a fan of the prompt of a tip from the cleaning person with a note upon arrival. Hochatown was fine, but restaurants all ran ran out of food during Spring Break!Overall, good cabin. But, if we go back to Hochatown, it won't be during Spring Break!

  • Great cabin.

    5/5

Loved the cabin. Great location. The hot tub was amazing Only issue we never once heard from the property manager. Checking in or checking out. Luckily the property owner had called me to explain some things about the new hot tub. I called and she answered immediately. She gave me my entry code and said the property management would be sending me a email. Besides the issues with the rental management the place was awesome.
