• Shabby place, not what I expected.

  The property was dirty although it was claimed to have been professionally cleaned. Had holes, broken plaster, cracks and marks on walls, ceiling, counter top and floors. Some of the furniture depicted in VRBO pictures was either missing or damaged. A smoke detector was chirping due to end of battery life when we arrived. The detector was far past its end-of-life date (1999)! The oven was filthy. There were only 3 very old and stained coffee cups for a house that sleeps 7. Overall it was a very frustrating experience.

  - The property was professionally cleaned the day before your arrival. We’re also addressing the wall damage caused by a recent furniture delivery, which was already scheduled for repair.
  - When you reported a gas smell, we immediately contacted the gas company. They inspected the home and confirmed there were no leaks. As a precaution, the gas was temporarily shut off and then safely restored.
  - The stove was thoroughly checked by a technician and found to be in proper working condition with no leaks present.
  - We do have an adequate supply of pots and pans, with some stored in a side closet. We would have been more than happy to assist had we been contacted during your stay.
  - All detectors were confirmed functional during a recent city inspection. While it’s possible a battery ran low, we would have arranged for a replacement if we had been notified, rather than the unit being disconnected without approval.

  Main issue is that the interior paint job (walls and flooring) was too fresh, so the house -- especially the upstairs -- was filled with fumes when we arrived. The sealant on the upstairs floors was freshly applied so every step was sticky. As the days passed, the smell abated and the floor sealant hardened so that was better. The place overall was very clean, the heat worked fine, and the beds were very comfortable. TV and internet worked easily. I feel like the price was a little high for what we got, but the place filled our needs adequately.
