  We were truly optimistic for this vacation home. The three of us (husband/wife/son) wanted a clean, modern, cozy vacation home that was close to activities while visiting Easton and surrounding areas. This home and neighborhood were anything but charming.

  This was our worst rental experience to-date, due to air conditioning issues (not cooling to desired temperature – we literally had to cover the front windows with bed blankets to keep the heat out and not turn on any of the incandescent lights to keep the heat down), ants in the kitchen sink/counter/our food, the beds were uncomfortable and one bed even had ripped sheets, unclean floors and carpets, missing items – there were no scissors in the kitchen and no measuring cups, and the tub stopper was missing. The location was in perfect proximity for an Easton shopping and dining vacation, however the neighborhood is best described as “trashy”. The neighborhood smelled of weed from the driveway of the property one night after getting home from dinner with our family. I would not walk in this neighborhood for fear of safety.

  Due to the numerous noted issues above that affected our comfort, health, and safety we left three days early after following all of the host’s instructions when leaving. We notified Evolve (the property managers) as well as the host. We were able to secure a partial refund for our disappointing stay at this property and would not recommend this property.

  Owner's response: "Autumn, We work hard to provide our guests with everything they need. We have over 50 5-star reviews from guests who have been satisfied and have shared positive feedback so that others will see this is a great rental.
  
  We received 10 complaints within the first couple of hours you were at the home. We tried our hardest to supply you with what you asked so that you could have a good experience.
  
  Regarding the AC when you were here it was 100 degrees outside and you consistently left the doors open, the unit is not designed to fight against itself if you are not doing what is needed like keeping the doors closed, all of the cool air will not stay inside and it will not cool off the house. We do not have any issues with the AC and it works great.
  
  We have not had any issues with pests of any kind we had been at the home the day before you arrived and the exterminator confirmed they found NO signs of ants, there was no infestation.
  
  While we try to accommodate all guests' comfort, we're sorry the mattress didn't meet your preferences. We did provide you with a new set of sheets and advised you that there were extra sheets available in the closet. This was just an oversight on our part as we check the sheets regularly and discard any that need to be replaced.
  
  We have a great cleaning team and they do an above standard job, there were no cleanliness issues when you arrived. We have not had any complaints about this, it is usually mentioned how clean the home is, you can see those comments in a lot of our reviews. However, we did give you a partial refund.
  
  We keep a fully stocked kitchen, however when you contacted us we brought over the measuring cups you asked for. In addition, we also provided you with the bathroom stopper.
  
  Your description of the neighborhood is not only offensive but also inaccurate, our home is in the Westerville school district and the homes are spacious and are primarily occupied by older residents. We have never had any situations where people were loitering or smoking on or near the property. There is absolutely nothing to be afraid of and your safety was never an issue.
  
  You chose to leave early for reasons of your own we do not feel it was the house or the neighborhood because we did go above and beyond to make you happy but we were unsuccessful. We're not sure what you expected but we do all we can to make the best possible stay, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests. We will continue to deliver the 5-star experiences we are known for."

  From the Owner: "Thank you for the review. There were no problems with the hot water, and no issues were reported by you. The house is designed to accommodate 6 people, but you brought twice that number, which can deplete the hot water in the tank."

  Location is great right by downtown. Neighborhood feels safe, and the house was exactly as described. Clean and comfy. Would absolutely stay again!
