Overall this was a decent property… I read the other reviews and my expectations were set and this met them. Overall it was clean, comfortable, and communication from the person/company managing it was good. I would recommend this rental to most people with a few notes…
*There is off-street parking which is good, but it’s a little odd for Units 1 and 2 in that you may need to back out of a fairly narrow curved driveway. Not a problem but something to note… I could see it being confusing or problematic at times. The owners need to trim back some of the bushes out front!
*The property is an older house. It’s interesting and quirky but don’t expect a 5-STAR modern experience.
*The floor plan was kinda cut-up with stairs leading to the bedroom and main living area that was separated from the bathroom. Not a big deal, but it could be a problem if you have young kids. The plus side is that unit is fairly large and the floor plan makes it feel bigger, so if you did have to spend time hanging inside it then you don’t feel crowded.
*The kitchen is modern and looks fairly new. Very clean.
*The bathroom was clean, but like others said it was fairly tight with a small sink (no real counter) and a vintage claw-foot tub they’ve converted to a shower. This all worked fine for me, but if you need a large counter to lay out all your products this won’t work well for you. Again it was clean and worked but this part wasn’t modern.
I would visit again.

The apartment was well taken care of and supplied everything you could possibly need. The owners immediately responded when any questions came up and the affordability of the experience made it the perfect short getaway with my wife.

Hi there, the homeowner would like to share the following: "Thank you so much for your kind review! Our goal is to provide our guests with a wonderful experience. We appreciate you making our home a part of your vacation experience and we hope to have the opportunity to host you again soon! We're glad you thought our home was a nice place."
The home was very well maintained and had comfortable furniture. It was a great place for a relaxing getaway.

This apartment within an old house was one of the best budget friendly options we could find in Poughkeepsie during peek "leaf peeping" season. The owners have done a decent job of trying to make the apartment comfortable and hospitable with things like a comfortable mattress, streaming services, coffee/tea, etc. Poughkeepsie is a hard hit town and this house is in a safe area. However, the building is (like many in the area) falling apart and I think safety of Unit 2 could be enhanced. The main entrance has a code lock but the lock just goes into the 3/4" wood frame with no strike plate (read as not very secure if someone were to want to get in). Also, the locks on the bedrooms windows do not work, one even crumbled apart in my hands. The window slide open with the easiest of touches. This is not the case of a renter breaking the locks and the owners not knowing. This is owners not investing in better windows that are secure. I get it, it's an old house. But if you're going to rent it out, you have to make sure things are secure. There are pros and there are cons of staying here. Pros are having an apartment with separate kitchen and living room, streaming, safe area, and budget friendly compared to nearby hotels. Cons are lack of unit security and awkward accessibility to unit and its bathroom (though well illustrated in the photos).
