First impressions are everything. The exterior of the property is in disrepair and needs attention. Inside was lacking as well. The lock on the sliding door was a piece of wood wedged in the track. The site description states you have the entire home to yourself, however there is someone living in the basement. There was an uneasy feeling our entire stay.

    Manager's Response:

Hi Peter, we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We want to provide the following clarifications:
-The exterior of the home is represented accurately in the listing photos, and previous guests have been positive about the condition of the property. However, we will review any areas that may need attention.
-The sliding door currently uses a wooden block for security, but the lock will be upgraded soon for additional peace of mind.
-While there is a basement apartment with a separate entrance and no shared spaces, guests have the entire main home to themselves. The basement occupant has their own parking space and no interaction with the rental area.
Thank you again for your feedback. We’re sorry you felt uneasy during your stay, and we’re committed to ensuring future guests have a comfortable experience.

  • FLX Friend Weekend

    5/5

Group of friends and wives/girlfriends came together to celebrate a marriage of the group. It was a perfect location, large enough to have us, and had all the amenities we could possibly think of. It’s off in the quiet, but close enough to town. Wineries, breweries and a variety of other options are extremely close and accessible. The property manager was so helpful and communicative, and all in all it was a 5 star experience for myself, all the others guests, and the dogs! Will gladly come again if we come back through.

  • Spacious and Clean

    5/5

I was looking for a property with many separate bedrooms, not one listed as "sleeps 5+" but actually is just couches and an air mattress and this fit perfectly for a group of friends. The house was clean and spacious and bright. No A/C in summer is slightly tough and it's a little further from town but the property was beautiful and the fire pit and grill were great. Would book again!

  • A Surprise Gem!

    5/5

We had an amazing stay here. It is just a short drive from the Cornell University campus, making it the perfect place to stay for alumni visiting the area. The house is spacious and well-equipped, with a fully stocked kitchen, high-speed internet, and family-friendly amenities such as a pack-n-play, large back deck with a propane grill, and a big backyard. The back deck was very relaxing with Adirondack chairs that faced a forest. It's the kind of place where you'd be proud to host family.

We loved the antique furniture and art scattered around this very modern and updated house. Each bedroom was unique and had its own charm, and there was even a remote working space with a large desk.

We enjoyed spending time exploring the natural landscape beauty on several hikes, shopping at the Ithaca Farmers Market, and visiting the Cornell campus. Cortland is only 10 minutes away, which was very convenient too. We also spent one morning antiquing, tasted the local grapes at a couple of wineries, and ate out at some great restaurants.

Overall, we highly recommend this vacation rental for groups of all sizes. It is the perfect place to stay for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway to Ithaca.
