This apartment was a great place to stay. The location was fine, and the house is definitely old but it was very clean and pleasant. No issues at all. The place was fully stocked with kitchen supplies, coffee, towels, linens. It is rather spacious. We only stayed a short time but it would be great for a longer trip!

So I wish the ad had made it clear that even though this rental is on the second floor, it’s not at the top of the building. There is a third apartment above the Vrbo rental, and the floors between units have zero sound dampening or insulation, in a building that is probably 100 years old. For many people, this would not be a huge deal, but I am autistic and would never have picked this rental had I known there would be people above me. Normal conversation, TV watching, and walking around comes through extremely clearly and this was a huge stressor for me and made my time here quite miserable.I will say that Evolve called me and asked me to get in touch with Vrbo directly, thinking that Vrbo would be able to relocate me due to this issue. However, when I called Vrbo, I was informed that this did not meet any of their criteria for a relocation, since the ad had not explicitly claimed to be on the top floor. So, good job, Vrbo. Your policies exclude autistic people with sensory issues.Similarly - just prior to checking in, I received a lengthy note from the local property manager, saying that they’ve had issues with Vrbo guests not being respectful of the long term tenants on the first and third floors. They cited things like Vrbo guests playing music and watching TV too loud. The things is, though, the sound insulation is so poor that any amount of normal music or TV will come through to other floors quite clearly. So I honestly question whether past Vrbo guests were actually too loud, or if this is just what happens when you rent out separate floors of a building this old, without bothering to insulate or sound-dampen at all. I’d only recommend this rental if A) you can be extremely quiet, using only headphones for audio and speaking softly in conversation, and B) you conversely won’t be at all bothered by the (very normal) sounds of the upstairs tenant coming through very clearly and audibly.
