  • This Place Needs Some TLC, Better Provisions

    3/5

Phil & Susan are great & the spot is lovely, but the cottage was run down & kind of sad. I'm no diva, I don't mind funky, but this place missed the mark, overall. Maybe better for families/kids, but not great for adults. Be warned that they don't provide towels!! We traveled from California, so Susan gave us two (one of which was unraveling), but we had none for our visiting guests. Very embarrassing. The dishes situation was also problematic, the worst being there were only 3 wine glasses!! The one bathroom was challenging. Also note that the property owners & neighbors are VERY close to the cottage. That being said, the deck was lovely, the pond was beautiful, we had a lovely time on the water with the provided kayaks, the location is near other activities, and Phil & Susan greeted us with a pie, which was very nice!

    Manager's Response:

Hi Lyn, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they would like to share the following:
    - Both our listing and our welcome email state that we do not provide towels, but we are sorry if this caught you off guard. We encourage guests to thoroughly review the listing before booking, to ensure they find the perfect vacation home for their needs. That being said, we provided you with 2 towels, the number of guests in your booking.
    - We apologize if one of our wine glasses was missing, we typically provide 4 for our guests and will replenish the supply for future travelers.
    - The bathroom is clearly represented on the listing. It has a full-size tub with a shower, small vanity, and a toilet.
    - We make it clear to our guests that the homeowners live on property, though the home is over 75 feet from where guests stay.
We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and we are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

    5/5

Our family loved our stay at Sue and Phil's charming waterfront cottage. We couldn't have asked for nicer hosts. On our first night, they took us in their pontoon boat to see the fireworks on the lake . It was one of the highlights of the week.

  • Great Lakeside home!!

    5/5

The property has everything that you will need to have a relaxing getaway. Our group consisted of four adults and two teenagers and we stayed for a week. We used the kayaks (4), paddle board, and floating tubes everyday on the warm and clean water of the lake. We also fished, grilled, roasted marshmallows by the fire, relaxed on the spacious deck, and observed the numerous eagles, hawks, and wildlife. The location was perfect for stargazing and we were lucky enough to catch a meteor shower. Thank you to Sue and Phil for providing such an excellent and stress free experience.
