  • Well-equipped mountain home with clever details

    5/5

We enjoyed our stay at this modern, well-equipped mountain studio home with clever details and thoughtful touches. The in-wall dustpans connected to the central vacuum are ingenious! A surprisingly comfortable Murphy bed gave our daughter a much needed break from her summer job as a camp counselor. Extensive coffee and tea service. Hooks everywhere. A dish next to the sink for your jewelry. All furnishings, linens, towels, cookware and utensils were high quality. The view is stunning, and the many windows and patios enable you to enjoy it everywhere. If you are sensitive to morning sun and want to sleep later than sunrise, take a sleep mask - no window treatments on the picture window in the bedroom. Internet service was reliable. TV easy to use. We had an issue with the AC and the owner was very responsive (texted me back within minutes) but unable to resolve during our stay. Luckily the weather cooperated, and opening all the windows kept us comfortable. We spent time in nearby Canton, Candler, Waynesville and Lake Logan. The studio home is quiet, clean, comfortable, well-built and well-appointed. We hope to return!

From the owner: "Thanks for the review, Emily! So glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes, the dust pans are magical. Somehow, although it sounds strange, we too enjoy sweeping the floors. We like that you appreciated the views. The glow of Asheville is nice at night as is seeing the sun rise in the morning. Not sure what was going on with the AC. We had a guy up there after you left and he pressurized the system. Maybe that was it. Opening the windows makes for good sleeping when it’s cool. We’re glad you enjoyed that. Good thing Boojum wasn’t lurking about. Hope you can come back soon!".

  • Wonderful Mountain Getaway!

    5/5

Spent three incredible nights taking in the fresh, mountain air, breathtaking sunrises & awesome views. The cabin was perfect for my husband & me. Recently built & so well outfitted. We, especially, loved all the light from the multiple windows, the deck off the family room & the fire pit. Honestly, we didn’t want to leave this peaceful sanctuary, but look forward to a return visit. Roger was great to work with.

    Manager's Response:

From the owner: "Thanks for writing us a review Amy. And glad you enjoyed the mountains - the air and the views. It’s so nice to have our guests appreciate our place; we do, too. The sunrise and sunset seem to be somewhat special up there. Especially with coffee or tea in the morning and maybe a glass of wine at night. Hope you come back soon."

  • We loved our stay here

    4/5

We loved our stay here. It’s about a 5 minute drive up a very steep mountain so be sure your car has good brakes and tires, doesn’t necessarily need to be 4 wheel drive. The owners kept everything in the house that you could’ve possibly ever needed. Right down to some high end hair products that came in handy. Our only complaint would be that they were doing some paving while we were staying there so every now and then we would run into a wide paving truck and would have to back up the mountain to let them pass. Otherwise the house itself and the location were absolutely gorgeous and we would definitely stay again.

From the owner: "Thanks for the review and appreciate you taking the time to submit it. Yep, we try to supply whatever you need. Especially glad you liked the hair products- that’s my wife’s special touch, and I can’t take credit for that. Yes, the road is twisty and a little steep in spots, that’s why the views are so nice at 3700 ft elevation. Really sorry you had to make way for the road paving guys a couple of times. Must have been tricky backing up the hill to accommodate them. We keep roads in good shape, seems like you were at the tail end of the final paving work. Hope you will consider coming back sometime. The fall is really beautiful at our place. Thanks again for the review!"
