We had very enjoyable time at this property. It's the perfect blend of seclusion and still being close to the things you want to do. We spent time in Brevard, Hendersonville and Asheville during our week there. All were an easy drive from the property.
The house itself is wonderful. We had great time feeding the koi everyday. We even spotted a white squirrel in the backyard (we stayed here to go to the white squirrel festival in Brevard).
Had to contact the property manager a couple times with questions and she always responded quickly. So don't hesitate to reach out if you are going to stay here.
The only two things I would suggest:
1. The bed is rather firm. I am a fan of a firm mattress but it was just a tad too firm. I would say just adding a softer memory foam mattress topper would do the trick. All that being said, it didn't ruin our stay.
2. The bedrooms have tile floors. I assume because they are easy to maintain. I would suggest a couple throw rugs to help with bare feet on a cold floor when you get out of bed.
Those are the only things I would of changed. I hesitated to even bring them up because they are so minor but I want to give an honest review so I'm including them.
I hope to return someday. Maybe get some more pics of the white squirrels.

This is a fantastic property. It sits way up on the hillside away from any traffic and noise and is so quiet and peaceful. It is however, 10 minutes from epic mountain biking and fly fishing in DuPont and Pisgah. Restaurants, groceries, gas, bike shops, fly shops and the amazing Ecusta Brewing Company are all conveniently close, too. The house is clean and comfortable with all the amenities inside and tons of deck and patio space outside. A minor note of caution: the driveway is narrow, winding and steep in sections (as per the description). I recommend a vehicle with high ground clearance as the bike hitch rack on my buddy's van would scrape a little at one steep curve. It's not a deal breaker and don't let it stop you from booking. Mitzi, the host, is incredibly hospitable and offers stellar communication. I highly recommend you stay here. I will be, again, in the future.

The good: this property is beautiful- located a top a secluded hill and so cozy and warm. It is obvious that the owners have loved and cared for this home for many years. It is immaculately clean and very well appointed, it literally has everything you need! I really wish I had nothing bad to say but…
The bad: The beds; dear god the beds are so bad. They are hard and unforgiving and wreaked havoc on our necks and backs (we are both under 40). We actually left a day early bc we could not stand to have another painful, sleepless night.
Comfortable, updated beds would make this a neat perfect stay 😕

This lovely home was perfectly prepared for our visit, leaving nothing to want. Its quiet serenity was well off the beaten path but just miles from virtually everything, giving the feeling of actually living in the forest. In addition to vistas, waterfalls, river tubing, and horseback riding, there is also the feeling of sharing a family home with echoes of many happy memories. And now, ours are among them.
