We had a wonderful stay. The home is beautiful and the setting was perfect! Plenty of room for everyone. The home was very clean and well-stocked with anything you could possibly think of. We spent most of our time in the pool or on the lake on paddleboards. All the plants in bloom, trees, and the lake in the background made it a peaceful serene park-like setting. It felt like we were the only ones on the lake - not a lot of traffic. The no-see-ums were a bit annoying around the pool and garage in the evenings but we did not have any trouble with mosquitos. Definitely, a place to go to get away and reconnect with your family.
Had an 8-day stay at this vacation property with my family. The house is very accommodating and has plenty of room for a large family. You can hang out in the living room or sitting room, sit out at the pool or hang out in the bar area. There is a double-car garage converted into a great space for game time as well as hanging out. Plenty of areas for outside dining. A nice yard area for outdoor lawn games. The dock is a nice spot, which my husband claimed for the entire week. Nice boat ramp for entering and exiting in kayaks or boats. The beds are comfortable as well as the furniture. Another favorite spot was the huge sturdy farm table that we all could sit at and have family meals. The kitchen allows for lots of storage and room for a few in the kitchen working. Lots of extras for comfort as well as plenty of games on location. A couple of suggestions: The winding staircase is extremely tight, and this accesses a bedroom and bathroom, so it is really only for those who are small in stature. The gnats can drive you crazy on the lawn so I would suggest spraying the area or having a citronella candle to ward them off as well as bug spray for your skin. The lake was never crowded, most days we only saw a few watercraft. We had a few hiccups, but the owner was quick to respond to correct it in a timely manner. Restaurants recommended: Oyster Bar and Seafood Grill as well as Latitude 35 Bar and Grill ( next door to Latitude there is a community theater worth checking out.
We loved the property and the amenities. The house needs a little more TLC but I would stay there again. The owners provided many extras and we were never “without”. A better cleaning company may be in order.

We had a great stay. The property was amazing. I loved having the kayaks and paddleboard. The kids loved running around the yard. Parkton looks like a great up-and-coming place. I assume, the next stay will offer more in the way of restaurants and such. We loved it and would definitely stay there again.
From the owner: "Thank you so much for your great review. There are restaurants and grocery stores about 15 minutes away. There is also a grill and griddle to enjoy eating outdoors. I hope to see you soon!"
