The property is on very steep hillside with yard area difficult for anyone with any walking limits. The key in the lockbox would not open the door it was beside. It only opened the door on the south side of the house. The kitchen is very small, basically a 1 person area.our arrival during Helene was

    2/5

Got to the house late and the code to get the key out of the lock box didn't work. Reached out to the property manager via phone and email with no immediate response. After waiting for a while decided to call customer service of the company that owns or manages the house to see if they could help. Was on the phone with them for about 10 minutes and they got me the key code for the door, not the lock box. During that time the property manager texted me the same info. All told we had to wait about 35 minutes to gain access to the house. Why not give the key code for the door to guests?

Getting into the house and noticed it really needs some updating. Tried to get on their internet network and the password they supplied via email did not work. Texted the property manager and she texted back to look on the modem. Got the password off of that and it doesn't work. Let the property manager know and she said she would look into it. During that period of time we noticed a sheet on the fridge that had a password that did work.

Tecnically, there was nothing wrong with the house itself. Not the cleanest as their were cob-webs in the house. The path to the firepit was not maintained, and the driveway to the house was so tight we had to back down a single lane road to get out. Anyone who has an suv or truck will have this issue. Either go down the one lane street and turn around in someone elses driveway or back out.

Huge spider in the house too. Not a great place for what they charge?

    Manager's Response:

Hi Jonathan, we passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following: As we value guest satisfaction, we strive to uphold high standards of hospitality for our property and provide all of our guests with an exceptional experience.
    - We aim to make vacation rental easy for everyone. Before your arrival, you were given a pre-stay email with instructions to gain access. In our contact with you, we ensured to immediately respond to assist.
    - The Wi-Fi information is also clearly stated in the pre-stay email you received.
    - Many guests including ourselves, frequently use the driveway with SUVs without any difficulties. It's important to mention that the driveway is not suitable for trailers, as clearly stated in the property description.
    - We value the condition and cleanliness of our home. Our cleaners ensure that it is professionally and thoroughly have it serviced for guests to enjoy. While we're sorry to hear that a spider impacted your stay, the log cabin is situated in the mountains where pests are expected.
We do all we can to make our home the best possible experience, and we look forward to this property hosting many satisfied guests.

  • Awesome Property

    5/5

We were a group of friends that came to Maggie Valley as a basecamp for riding our Motorcycles on the wonderful roads that are everywhere there. The Cabin was great. One member of our party cooked a wonderful meal for us all. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots , pans and all the utensils needed. There is not only a coffee maker, there was a Keurig too. We only had two minor issues, the key code did not work but a quick call to the host got us in. The 2nd issue was the AC was struggling to cool. The host addressed that quickly too and sent a repairman. My group is already talking about coming next year!

Cabin is n a great location! Easy to find, close to restaurants and attractions. Clean and comfortable. Loved the deck

for morning coffee, relaxing, and listening to the beautiful church bells. I really liked the night lights n the backyard that reminded me of fireflies flickering in the night!!
