The house was much newer than we expected. It had everything we needed for a great stay. It had nice TVs, great wifi, and nice beds. There a few small issues that caused us a great deal of stress. 1) Google Maps took us the long way through the neighborhood to get to the house. Do not go via Strawberry Hill Road. It is a two way road that is only 1 lane wide. And, Google Maps confused us as we got close to the house. We had to turn around twice and it was unsafe. After 30 minutes of trying to figure out how to get to house, the directions to get into he house were confusing. The front of the house faces away from the way you come in. So, we went to the wrong door. The front of the house faces the side of the mountain. Then, the keypad was digital and it was touchy. It took us 5 times to open the door. Finally, the location of the house was very remote and the roads from Cullowhee were extremely curvy. I expect some curves in the mountains, but there were also no great views, no waterfalls, 1-2 creeks, and nothing to do in the area. On the positive, the property manager was great and very responsive whenever we needed help. And, there is a nice fire pit and lake access at the bottom of the hill. It is an extremely steep walk or drive back up. The lake levels were way down. But, it was a nice walk after a long drive.
The house is just as advertised. Actually better. My family and I are from Florida, so the only downside to the place is the road to get to the actual house is super narrow scary to us. We got lost and the property manager came to meet us and showed us how to get to the house. Felicia was amazing. Going back to the house clean spacious more than enough rooms. I definitely would recommend to anyone. If it wasn’t for the roads to get there this would be our go to spot when we come see our son who plays for Western Carolina.
