• Beautiful view from the deck, the house just okay

  The home in nice and the location is beautiful. The attention to detail within the home could use some attention. With the cleaning fee of $256, I found several areas that could have been cleaned better. The bathrooms, kitchen counters, refrigerator and living room areas were adequately cleaned. The kitchen and breakfast nook area had sticky spots on the floors and the interior of the trash can and it's lid were disgustingly dirty. We found mouse droppings under the sink and under the beds. We spent most of time on the deck, but the living room would benefit from additional seating. The kitchen lacked some basic tools, such as cookware, other than frying pans, and a good knife set, as well as steak knifes. The spice cabinet had an assortment of large bottles in it, but lacked basic spices and olive oil and cooling spray, which I usually count on when cooking at a short term rental. They are growing wine grapes, but the only wine opener I could find was a cheap free one from the Holiday Inn. The timing for the exterior lights on the barn and the house were set incorrectly and we had no way to turn on exterior lights to get from where we parked into the house. We had to use our car headlights to follow the path to the home. There were mouse deterrents plugged into every outlet in the kitchen and mousetraps under the kitchen sink, that along with the mouse droppings, make it very apparent that there is a mouse issue. The grass right up to around the house was long and could be a contributing factor into the mouse problem.
