We enjoyed our stay in Natchez and this house fit us all well. There were 5 of us and the house had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Very well equipped. And we loved spending time on the screened porch in the evening. Highly recommend!

A great property in Natchez. An older home with lots of charm. Loved the screened side porch for morning coffee and evening wine. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had all we needed. Felt safe and most local attractions were a 5 minute car ride away including Natchez Under the Hill, Antebellum mansions, St. Mary’s Basilica, and downtown restaurants. The attic space has been converted to a bedroom and it got warm in the summer afternoon heat, but cooled down in time for bed. The home has some “old house character” such as uneven floors that may present a challenge to some but did not bother us at all. Kitchen and bathroom have been updated. Had a great time and would stay here again if in the area.

This VRBO house was beyond horrible, I would not recommend to my worse enemy. The house and grounds were dirty and unkept. The listing and narrative was very deceptive. The 2nd bathroom was in the attic, a bathtub with a hose. The furniture was old, smelled and was worn out. The coffee pot had been used in another lifetime, the grounds were molded inside. Large neon. Exit signs were hung in several areas.

Hi Betty, the homeowners were surprised to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing excellent guest experiences, and would like to share the following:
- Upon receiving your feedback, we looked into your concerns and found that the yard and home were well-kept, clean, and guest-ready for your visit.
- We used a professional photographer to guarantee that our listing images accurately reflect the size and character of the cottage including the furniture and second bathroom so guests can decide before booking if the space meets their preferences. The listing's content was carefully crafted to ensure it effectively portrays the listing as well.
- While we found no evidence of mold in the coffee pot, our team overlooked removing the grounds, and we apologize for the oversight. We've addressed this with our cleaning team to prevent a recurrence and provided an industry-standard refund due to the inconvenience.
- There is an exit sign at the front door and one upstairs, as required by the fire marshal for all short-term rentals in Natchez.
We truly go above and beyond for our guests and are confident that future guests will have outstanding stays.
Cons: The location is convenient because it's walking distance to downtown BUT it's on a very high traffic road. Lots of traffic, often very fast and very loud literally right out the front door. The driveway/parking situation was not ideal and every time you needed to leave the house it was a production. It's just a really old house that's been semi-updated so lots of sloping floors, smells musty and humid in the house, uncomfortable beds, weird electrical stuff and all furniture in serious need of an update. We were left a 1/2 roll of paper towels in the kitchen and one roll of toilet paper so I had to make a shopping trip for those. Pros: You can walk to downtown or get to major intersections quickly as well as things like Walmart, etc (all about 8 min away). The kitchen is cosmetically done nicely as well as some updates in the bathroom but it's all just purely for looks. Kitchen is pretty well stocked with dishes/pots/pans/etc but no Keurig so be prepared to use one of the other 3 coffee makers they had on hand. Fantastic to have a washer and dryer on property and they were fairly new so they worked well. Overall, for the 3 days we were there it did the job but I honestly wouldn't stay there again.

Hi Laurie, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
- The house, built in 1920, has undergone extensive renovations, with over $120,000 invested to preserve its original charm, including the stunning original pine floors.
- Given that it's a raised house and not a slab, the floors are not all level. Rest assured, the floors have been refinished and are in excellent shape.
- The downstairs bathroom has been entirely redone, including the plumbing. While the upstairs bathroom hasn't been replaced, guests can preview it in the photos before booking their reservations.
- In the kitchen, we restored the cabinets, and all other elements have been updated. New appliances, such as a dishwasher, refrigerator, and washer and dryer, were added in 2021.
- We take pride in maintaining a pleasant atmosphere, and unpleasant smells have never been an issue. Nevertheless, if such concerns were a problem, we would address them promptly.
Thank you for sharing your review with us.
