Portage Lake Cabin Stay
5/5 First time visiting in Park Rapids and both my wife and I had a great time hiking and touring around town. The owner of the cabin, Wayne came to meet us and gave us many helpful tips regarding Itasca Park local food and pubs. The cabin itself felt like a friend or relatives cabin, very warm and well put together. I enjoyed sitting next to the fireplace watching the sun come up with ducks on the water and listening to the sandhill cranes off in the distance. My wife enjoyed sleeping in except for the day we went to Itasca State Park hiking. We played a few of the many board games and read from the many books that were there. It reminded me of when I was a kid staying at my aunt and uncles cabin.The place was clean and we slept like logs in a very comfortable bed unlike my aunt and uncles place. We brought our own kitchen utensils which were not needed. The home is got everything you need to have a fun filled time and great cabin experience. We will definitely go back when it's warmer for swimming and a little fishing.
