One of my friends and I had a three night girls’ trip and stayed here. It is a duplex and quiet, as we did not hear a thing from the people next door. The inside is very clean and well decorated with comfortable furniture and amenities.

We had an amazing stay! The place was spotless, had everything we needed, and was so comfortable. Communication was great with the host. I loved the eco-friendly skin care products! Very aligned with what I usually use so that was a nice bonus. The local little main St areas had great food and shopping.

Location of the property was incredible... Great neighborhood with a lake 2 minutes down the street, great walking parks around the corner and dining options in walking distance.

The good news is that the property is visibly clean, and it is near bike and walking trails.
It served as a good base for our visit.
Unfortunately, this is the kind of experience that makes us never want to use short term rentals again. The place smelled heavily of air freshener or some kind of odor masker that never went away in the 10 days we were there. We kept the windows open for as much of the day as we could, but the smell would return as soon as the windows were closed.
The outside of the property was poorly maintained. The back walk to the parking area was overgrown with weeds and the sidewalk has settled a few inches around the concrete side steps. This means that when you take your last step, it’s very long. If you have any balance issues, it could be a problem. To open the windows, you have to push open the outside storm windows, which all had spiderwebs and were kind of gross.
The property is a duplex. Our neighbors tended to get up pretty early. Like 3 o’clock in the morning. They weren’t terribly noisy, but you could hear them. Though late one Saturday night there was a heated argument next door that left me awake for a while, wondering whether I should call the police. Luckily it didn’t seem to escalate beyond prolonged and loud arguing.
All in all, it wasn’t horrible, it was just kind of like an old cheap motel. From now on, for these prices, we’ll stay in a decent hotel.

Hi Joseph, we've shared your feedback with the homeowner, who has provided the following response:
-We're pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay and appreciated the cleanliness and convenient location of the property. Ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience is always our top priority.
-In response to the odor you mentioned, our cleaning crew discovered that the guest before your stay had burned several scented candles, which likely contributed to the scent you noticed. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The home is listed as a scent-free environment, and the owner shares your disappointment regarding this issue.
-Rest assured, the cleaning crew uses only natural, eco-friendly products to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness. However, once guests are in the home, their personal choices—such as burning scented candles or using other fragrant items—are beyond our control.
-Regarding the outdoor area, we would like to clarify that the side steps are not intended for guest use, as outlined in the house rules. The door code provided is for the front door only, and guests are advised to walk around the building rather than using the back sidewalk. The homeowner is also committed to supporting local wildlife, with the natural landscape designed to foster a habitat for bees and butterflies.
-While we wish we had been made aware of these concerns during your eleven-day stay so that we could have addressed them in real-time, we truly value your feedback and are committed to continuous improvement for future guests.
Thank you again for bringing these matters to our attention. We are committed to providing the best possible experience for all our guests and look forward to welcoming many more, as reflected in our past and recent reviews.
The rental is extremely comfortable and is beautifully kitted out, with all sorts of design touches that add to the sense of living in a lovely home. Extra design details like similar but different art pictures in the main room added to beautiful choices for window treatments (soft white in bathroom for privacy/light, nubbly dark in the bedrooms to keep light out) to make a coherent whole. Our bedroom had a great mattress, with soft and nice sheets. The bedrooms were also located in the back away from noise and underneath the shade of a tree, cool and quiet for nighttime. Having a dedicated parking spot off-street was important for us, as we were in and out a great deal and needed to be able to park at will. Lake Harriet is beautiful, 2 blocks walk away, with a path around separated into dedicated walking and biking lanes. Great place, perfect, highly recommend.
