We booked this cabin for Labor Day weekend. The weather was amazing. Did lots of boating and swimming. There’s a nice sandy beach/swimming area about 10 minutes away at Bear Creek Shore Lunch. The shoreline in Vermilion is unlike anything else in MN! My kids loved sleeping up in the loft area and the wraparound porch gives great views of the bay. We hope to be able enjoy the lakeshore on Vermilion again.
From the owner: "Glad you got a great Labor Day weekend on Lake Vermilion. The shore lunch areas are great!"
We rented this cabin so we could have both a place on Lake Vermilion but also close to Ely. We went to Blueberry Festival but also did some golfing in Ely. If you are looking for a log cabin experience, this is it. This location is so quiet and peaceful, there are no home across the bay. The views from the deck are AMAZING!
From the owner: "We are glad you were able to get to enjoy Ely, especially Blueberry Festival."
Stayed at this cabin (more like a home) around the 4th of July with my family. There were six of us, we had plenty of room. You are actually staying in the log home, but it has all the amenities that you would need. Grandkids went swimming daily. Went out on the lake multiple times. Sat on the front porch watching the grandkids run around the large yard. Spent the mornings on the deck, with a cup of coffee, looking at the lake and the wildlife. Cooked on the large deck while having vista views of the lake. Had nightly fires by the lake. Spent some time shopping and eating in the town of Ely. Took the family to the town of Tower for their 4th of July parade. It was a magical time spent in this beautiful setting and getting to stay in a log cabin. I am planning again to stay for a longer period of time at this same home, this coming year with my family.
From the owner: "We are glad you enjoyed staying in our log cabin! The 4th of July is a wonderful time to be up North. We hope to have you stay again soon!”
I stayed at this cabin for a week to fish walleye and musky. It has easy access to the main lake and the boat launch is a few blocks away. You can grab gas at Glenwood Lodge, which is located right outside the bay. The cabin has a nice set up for cleaning fish outside and a large grill/cast iron pan to fry it up in outside. The cabin has all the amenities you need and offers great sleeping accommodations for multiple single individuals to sleep.
From the owner: "Thank you for your 5-star review! Glad you got to fish Lake Vermilion! Hope you caught some big ones!"
Checked in with a group for snowmobiling. Cabin is set up great for this. Two queens up in the loft, two twin beds in one room, a queen in the master suite. The wood burning fireplace is great to keep the cabin warm when you are gone and there were boot/globe dryers left by the owner to dry out your boots for the next day, which was a nice extra touch to have. It’s a quick ride over to Sudan to fill up, where you can grab the trails to any direction you want to go. Nice ride up to Ely where you can grab lunch at the Ely Lodge or the Boathouse.
From the Owner: "Glad that you got to experience the snowmobiling trails around Ely. The cabin is a great place to warm up after a long day on the trails. Hope to see you next year!"
