Was a rough start first the heat didn't work and then later in the afternoon I realized the lights weren't working but after we got the bugs worked out it was a beautiful stay

Beautiful place. Fish right in the back yard or on the kayaks. Build a fire and light up the sky. Very cozy and comfortable inside.

The cottage was very clean and communication with the host was excellent. The downside was the bed, it had a plastic mattress cover that made it difficult to sleep. Last night, we slept on the couches.

mattress protector is indeed a common practice to ensure hygiene and extend
the life of the mattress. However, we understand how it might have affected
your comfort. We would have been more than happy to assist you with this
issue if it had been brought to our attention during your stay. We
genuinely regret that you didn’t have a restful night’s sleep and will
certainly take your feedback into consideration for future improvements.

After flying 2500 miles, and then driving 3 hours, we get to our destination and the place has the bed sheets and towels in piles on the floor, along with beer cans in the kitchen in a bag on the floor. Housekeeping forgot about us and we made the reservation about a month ago. Unreal. It was late at might so we were offered a refund for one day and were expected to stay the other 3 days because it was finally cleaned. the next day. So, so so disappointed. Try to cancel all of the days but the owner was not approving that. Such a sad experience.

experienced upon your arrival.
We deeply regret that housekeeping did not meet our usual standards during
your stay. Unfortunately, the cleaner assigned for that day had fallen ill,
and we were not made aware of the situation in advance. However, once we
were informed of the issue late at night, our property guest relations
person personally went to the property and worked diligently to clean it
until after midnight. We have since taken steps to ensure this situation
does not occur again, including more direct oversight of our cleaning
schedules and follow-ups after each rental.
We understand your frustration with the initial condition of the property
and are sorry that you felt the resolution offered—a refund for the first
night and cleaning before morning—was inadequate. Our guest relations
representative, who had the authority to handle these issues, was available
to address your concerns, but we understand you preferred to speak with the
owner directly, which was not possible at the time. We regret that you
chose not to stay, as we would have preferred to resolve this matter to
your satisfaction.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We take your feedback
seriously and are committed to making improvements to prevent such issues
in the future. We hope you will consider staying with us again under better
circumstances.
