We had a great time, the house fit our needs, the dock was a beautiful place to sit and relax… we were disappointed there were no golf balls in the lake 😂
Home was very spacious and had everything we needed.

My wife and I are coming off a month staty at this Dedham, ME lake house. A great property, right on Phillips Lake! The house was very, very clean and comfortable. The house has a wonderful fully equipped kitchen. A great screened in patio provided many nights of patio dining. In addition, there is seating right off the lake. The property can best be described as a very peaceful location.
In less than an hour you can be in Acadia National Park and/or Bar Harbor. Great golf at Lucerne Golf Course (4 minutes away), Traditions Golf Club (10 minutes away), Penobscot Golf Course (20 minutes away) and Kebo Golf Club (less than an hour away). Plenty of great places to eat in Ellsworth, Dedham, Holden and Bar Harbor. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Maine right on a lake, this is the place for you.

Maine is such a beautiful state. This lake house is a great location- close to Bangor and Acadia. We loved the bright and open living area. We loved the dock and screened porch.

I’d rate this as 9.3/10. The house had a great location- close to Acadia and Bangor. Also close to a local grocery. The house can sleep lots of people and each floor has a bathroom. The dock and screened porch and dock deck are all great spaces. The indoor living spaces are bright and open. Everything appears to be of a current style and not outdated. The use of the charcoal grill and kayaks was a big plus.
Cons: Upon a closer look, the house could use a better cleaning for sure. We walked into a rogue paper towel laying on the floor. The ground floor bedroom lakeside had a sticky floor, that bathroom had a toothbrush holder with runny toothpaste on it, the shower caddy was rusty, and the light fixture was dusty as were all of the corners on the floor. All 3 of the shower heads only had about half of the exit holes working. It took forever to wash and rinse hair. There were little ants in the kitchen. The screened porch floor was dirty- we swept it ourselves to keep from tracking dirt everywhere. The inner inside of the clothes washer door was covered in a black substance- mold? The sink smelled bad in the kitchen- disposal needs a good clean? Because of drainage, there did seem to be a lot of larger dirt/pebbles near the entrances- made it hard not to track dirt inside. The gutter above the wooden stained walkway is growing plants and leaking- it made for very slippery conditions in the rain. Safety Hazard- the deck on the lake has a bit of an optical illusion step and my older mother missed it and fell. She wasn’t seriously injured, but it was scary. Just off the dock there is a lot of garbage in the water- golf balls, etc. There were more than 2 dozen bags of garbage in the garage when we arrived. It was smelly and made the garage unusable.
My parents own a beach-town house in Michigan and I know their standards are higher than we experienced. For the price, I don’t think we’d stay again. Lots of potential to improve here though.
