There were several points that we found mediocre at best with this particular unit.
Positive
1. All in all my family felt this was a safe area with very friendly neighbors.
2. The unit was close to the city and in a convenient location to shopping.
3. Parking was a little tight but was available when needed.
4. Unit is large and will accommodate a large group.
5. Decent if you're in a crunch
Negative
1. When we entered the house, there was a stale smell, a sign that it had not been cleaned in awhile. This was to be our home away from home for a few days and was not as we expected. When you enter a supposedly clean place there is an expectation that there will be a clean, pleasant odor.
2. Giving the unit a once over, we found that there were roaches in and around the kitchen sink, another indication that the unit was not inspected before having someone occupy the space. Luckily we were able to take care of the issue and did not have a problem the rest of the stay, still not something the tenant should have to do. This was reported and I have yet to receive a response concerning this issue.
3. There were serval other minor issues that in my opinion should have been given more attention. The vacuum cleaner belt was broken and the broom handle became detached when we tried to sweep and looked as though it should have been replaced long ago. I am not saying the place was filthy but it could definitely use a more tiding up before renters arrive. These may seem like small issues, but when you travel from out of town and have spent your hard earned money, only to have a not so pleasant experience when you first arrive, they become very important.
4. On about the third day. I was in the restroom and heard a loud noise. I thought someone had fallen which was not the case. Upon further investigation I found that the window in one of the bedrooms had fallen completely out. Had I or one of my kids been in the room or even worst asleep in one of the beds, someone could have been seriously injured. Pictures were sent and am still waiting on a response 😏.
5. Kitchen table leg was broken and had to be wedged back into place.
I would not rent again. The unit definitely needs more attention and repairs taken care of before someone gets hurt.
Don’t rent this property. The property is very unsafe. Me and my family had to stay on the property for 4 to 5 days and the door was unlocked. The whole entire time. The window was broken and called for services several times but no one ever showed up very nice house but very unsafe and they don’t tell you in the beginning that the doors don’t lock or the windows, so they let you pay your money and you get there and it’s unsafe
